5.0 out of 5 stars surprisingly great.
i really didn't expect much from this product. In fact, i left it in the box in my yard all winter. The weather here finally improved, so I decided to break it out and see if it would really work. to my surprise, i found myself spending an hour hitting forehand after forehand. it really works and helps improve consistancy of strokes and allows you to really hit out on...

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't seem to return the ball as advertised
I don't know how others get this to work right. I put this on a metal pole (a basketball backboard support) that should have worked just fine, but the ball doesn't seem to return well. It really loses steam as it unwinds and stops before it completely unwinds. Not at all as shown. I got this so my young son could learn to hit the ball, but if I can't get it to return...

Fairly good pratice equipment for tennis or baseball. If you want to challenge yourself it's better on the tennis court. For pratice during the off season or when it's snowing, this is a good alternative. I recommend this product (if you have the space).

Except of young kids, tennis is not a game where people stuggle to hit the ball because the racquet is relatively large - instead the struggle is hitting the ball well on the run. This device is not going to help you hit the ball better or improve your game. In fact, it could hurt your game by making you stand around and wait for the ball.

The advertising was not clear as to what your getting; it does not include the stand for the ball assembly!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for practicing strokes, June 13, 2010
This review is from: Pro Performance Hit A Way Tennis endorsed by Andy Roddick (Sports)
I bought this product a few years ago, and I still use it to practice. It's not always easy to find a parter, or even a backboard to hit a ball. There are usually a pole at a playground that you can attach it to. I do have problems with the ball losing velocity as it wraps around the pole, but normally when you make solid contact, it does just fine. Where this product is great is repetition. I am learning to hit the ball with my opposite hand. The hit-away really allows you to hit over and over, as well as working on proper form for the strokes. Good practice, but not perfect!

This is not what I expected it to be at all! It did not come with a pole and it did not improve my skills. If at all it made my wrist hurt more.
