Product Description

Product Description

Pro Pool is a virtual pool hall where you can play a variety of billiards variations including eight ball, nine ball, and three ball in four different play modes: the two-player head-to-head match and the single-player modes of straight, speed pool, and hustle. In speed pool, the object is to sink all the balls as quickly as possible, while in hustle mode you play as a pool shark, placing bets to win money and moving from place to place until you score the ultimate prize: a pool hall of your own.

Pro Pool features 64 computer opponents and two different tables, standard rectangle and hexagon. Accurate physics account for table and cushion friction as well as ball angles, swerve direction, spin effects, and butt angles. The game's top-down perspective gives you the same variety of shots you would have while playing on a real pool table as well as the ability to alter the power of your shots. Pro Pool also has a shot-save feature that allows you to put the game down anytime and pick up where you left off later. Just try finding a real pool table that can do that!

Product Description

Cartridge Only Exciting billiards action comes to the Game Boy Color with PRO POOL. Play a match against the computer or a friend, or play the Single-Player Speed Match and try to clear all of the balls off of the table as quickly as possible. In Hustle mode, you take the role of a pool hustler, traveling from bar to bar placing bets on games. Ultimately, you want to win enough money to buy your own bar. In all of these modes, six different games can be played: 8 Ball, 9 Ball, 6 Ball, 3 Ball, straight pool, and speed pool. And the competition will never get stale thanks to the 64 different computer opponents to play. Plus, an outstanding physics engine makes this the most realistic pool game available for the Game Boy Color. Try to become a great hustler with PRO POOL.

This is a cool game! The only reason why I put 4 stars is because the controls are a little confusing, but hey, I'm a young gal and I figured it out! Dont hesitate to buy this game if you are a pool game! You can face up to 64 apponents, there are about 8 different kinds of game maches you can play! You can play with 64 different computerized players of different leves or with a friend, no GBC link needed, you just swich of the GBC and play! Also, a big part of the game is hustling, playing for money! When you get good enough, you can play for ownership of the pool hall! Sounds good so far? U've bet! Hope this review helps! p.s. dont hesitate bying this game because there aren't many reviews, it's a good one, trust me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pool Game !!!!, February 17, 2001

I was extremelly suprised at the addictiveness of this game! (For me anyway) The grafix of this this game are not bad for Color Game Boy's small screen. You can't see the numbers on the balls, but the game let's you know which ball to hit next on the screen if you haven't memorized which number goes with which color ball. It even gives you the option of British billiards and all the rules of each game. So you can learn how to play each game in real life too. Over all, I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys playing pool. Especially if you can't always get to the pool hall!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A small screen hides a serious and authentic game., November 22, 2000

When I first saw this on Amazon, there were no reviews and the screen shots were disappointing. Gameboy's small screen I thought would be insufficient for a game like pool. I took a chance anyway and bought it. I was very pleasantly surprised that the game is actually very serious and authentic. You can play against a friend via link cable or against the computer opponents, but I really liked the option of playing a "practice" game where you don't have to play against anybody. The sound effects are sharp and the selectable music is a great mood-setter for the game. The graphics are really quite good and I became used to the small screen (Some games don't make it on Gameboy Color's screen, maybe Gameboy Advance will improve them?) I recommend this game for Pool fans and am impressed with its control and options for setting up a good shot.
