3.0 out of 5 stars SQL Server 2008 Administration, February 11, 2010
This review is from: Pro SQL Server 2008 Administration (Paperback)
This book is for junior and seasoned database administrators this book is only about database administration and the new techniques introduced in SQL Server 2008. This book covers the foundational topics such as installation, index creation, and backup and recovery. This book talks about the new features available in SQL Server 2008 that will make your job easier. It also covers business and regulator-driven topics like auditing and managing security. SQL Server administration is an extensive subject that covers everything from the critical decisions you need to make before installing SQL Server to managing and tuning queries running on existing systems. This book can work as a go-to guide when you need to make an important decision. There is also code you can download from Apress to practice with while reading the book. With the release of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 has introduced many new features that increase scalability, manageability, availability, programmability, and security across the enterprise I recommend this book.
