I've suffered on and off for years with exercise-induced knee pain which meant that several times each year I had to avoid any kind of impact training. Even getting up and down stairs became painful. I finally tried a patella strap a few years ago by Nike and it worked really well but was quite bulky and was consequently a little uncomfortable. After plenty of research, I decided to try this band and it's fantastic. Lightweight, comfortable, incredibly durable and very effective. My main exercise routine is circuit/ interval training so my knee gets a lot of varied range of movement and this thing really stays in place without me having to tighten it too much.

One minor thing to note is that it stretches during the first month or so of use (I was using it 4 times per week for an hour at a time). I found that the stretch band across the back of the knee stretched by around 1/2 inch to 1 inch. I found that the size guide is very accurate based on the unstretched length, but bear this in mind when you order if you are close to the border between 2 sizes.

Had to return it because the sizing chart told me I was a large and it was WAY TOO BIG. I would have loved to get another one, but I ordered a bunch of knee braces at the same time and all them helped with the knee pain so I just ended up returning it. I say order a size smaller than they say....

I bought a pair because my knees ache a little when I climb stairs and I had plans to hike Grand Canyon. I was amazed that my knees did not hurt at all hiking down 7.5 miles. My joints were slightly sore afterward when I removed the straps and walked around, but it was hardly noticeable. I highly recommend these straps - they save a lot of discomfort for the price.

I bought this strap for my 14 year old step-son who has Osgood-Schlatters disease. They seem to work well for him.

I purchased this product because I am over weight and just starting to run. This product has been EXCELLENT for the running I have been doing and most importantly, it stays in place. My knees do not hurt after exercising and the pain I used to feel is now gone. I even did lunges with this on and it stayed put. Just be sure to get the right size!!! I had to order this item two times before getting the right size but once I got the fit, it felt GREAT!!

I am a serious runner (1200 miles a year) and own a variety of bandages and straps to deal with different problems. I recently bought this product when I experienced some pain on the outside of my right knee, which I suspected was due to a lateral meniscus tear rather than the patellar tendon. Nonetheless I needed something to put pressure on the area and provide support.

As soon as I put this strap on it was like magic. The pain disappeared and I was able to bend my knee completely. I went up and down the steps in my house and walked around carefree. I also was able to take one of my night time 5 mile runs without any pain or fatigue on the outside of my knee. The strap stayed in place the during the entire run even though I was sweating profusely. Also, I barely knew that I had it on since it is so thin and lightweight.

Be sure to order the right size. I used a piece of string to measure the circumference just below my knee, and then used a tape measure to see how long the string was. A medium worked fine for me. You can easily adjust the tightness and pressure of the strap, which stays securely in place with a velcro closure.

Bottom line: This is a welcome addition to my running gear and also handy to wear under my pants during the day at the office when I need it. I have used Pro-Tec products before because they are high quality, and this is no exception.

This is a fantastic product. I have used lots of knee braces and this one works the best for me. It is well made and is reasonably priced at around $16. I have run two marathons with these (along with all the long training runs before the races) and I have zero trouble knee trouble while wearing them. In the past, I have used these and the Cho-Pat braces - the ones that provide compression on the bottom and top of the knee. And though the Cho-Pat is nice, I prefer these from Pro-Tech. I love these!

This thing works extremely well. I hyperextended my knee about a year ago playing rugby and kept playing on it for a year. I definitely felt pain and I had a basic knee brace on it, so that it would at least be somewhat stable. But after dealing with the pain for a year on and off the field, I had enough. So I looked on line for a new brace (and made an appointment with an orthopedist) and found this. I liked it moreso because it was cheap, but I gave it chance because it looked like it focused on the part of my knee that needed help. So I said f*** it and just bought it. When it came in, I put it on and fitted it. It fitted well enough. I was a little surprised that it was simply a tube, but that tube worked well. I have been able to run with it fine, and it's a lot less bulky then my old knee brace. On top of that, it's like it pushes into place that lower leg to knee tendon well enough that I don't feel the same pressures on my knee that I used to. I can't wait to use it heavily during this upcoming Rugby season. But on the jogs that I do, and also given that I also do Parkour, it's helped tremendously.

My doctor Told me I had torn my meniscus. I really didn't want to get any surgery on it so I decided to try and order a patella strap to see how it worked. I ordered 2 different straps but this one worked PERFECTLY. I can now play basketball, airsoft, workout and do just about everything I could to before the tear. I would definitely recommend this to anyone else whom also has a bad knee and is sick of being held back. Trust me this helps.

For many years, I have owned two patellar straps from Mueller. They are one size fits all, and they slip down when I run. Though I could understand what they were supposed to do, it never felt like they were doing anything. I stopped wearing them a long time ago. Recently, while training for a marathon, I started to feel some twinges in one knee. Instead of trying the Mueller straps again, I decided to try Pro-Tec. Glad I did. It fits MUCH better. So far, it hasn't slipped, even on a 20-mile run. I have skinny legs, and being able to choose a size makes a difference, as well. If you have a Mueller and aren't happy with the results, try this one.
