Product Features

  • Alleviates conditions of plantar fasciitis and heel spurs.
  • Provides upward compression to the arch, supporting and stabilizing the plantar fascia ligament.
  • Includes built in pad for additional support to the medial arch, helping prevent excessive pronation.
  • Worn during activity to reduce strain to arch.

Product Description

General Application: Alleviates arch pain and discomfort. Medical Application: Alleviates conditions of plantar fasciitis (inflammation and tenderness of the plantar fascia). How it Works: Pro-Tec Athletics' Arch Support provides a slight lift to the arch helping to support the plantar fascia (a tough, fibrous band of tissue that runs along the sole of the foot with attachments to the heel bone and to the base of the toes). Targeted support reduces stress to the arch region and alleviates inflammation and tearing of the plantar fascia. Design Theory behind The Lift: The Arch Support achieves results similar to taping techniques by offering upward compression to the arch. This is achievable because the brace is made from stretchable material. Therefore, support is present not only when the foot is on the ground, but when the foot is elevated between steps. Soft material offers a comfortable pad for the arch when the foot does touch the ground.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, May 31, 2007
As a person who has battled plantar fasciitis for 4+ years and has had several foot doctors, orthotics, shots, stim treatments, nightsplint, etc this has been a great additonal to the battle of finally getting to fully fixed instead of being at 95-98% for forever.

Pros:

1. Much more comfortable than orthotics so they could be put aside

2. When sitting for awhile like with a desk job this will keep it from tightenting up and ruining whatever good the rest of what your doing is trying to achieve. This is honestly what I felt my foot needed. Pressure on the middle of the foot closer to the toes as opposed to the heel.

[...]Latest Update: I saw all my reviews and remembered I did this one and never updated it. Then I felt even more guilty as there were 19 out of 19 that really liked this review. All that I said above was true, but this and the other stuff never did heal me after well more than a year.

If what you saw above is your story please get Clair Davies Trigger Point Therapy Workbook and that will hopefully be your answer. It was for me. Deep massage in the middle of the calf where it hurt as well as a few other places have me free of all contraptions in my shoes and I can even walk around in my stocking feet in the house again. Truly a miracle that the answer was this simple for me. Anyway, I can't guarantee it will be for you, but if you were like me you'll try anything to hope for that affliction to improve.

4.0 out of 5 stars Arch support helps plantar fasciitis, February 8, 2008

I was looking for something that would allow me to be barefoot and reduce the pain of plantar fasciitis. This support does give good support to the arch by both tension and a pad under the arch. This is no substitute for good shoes with arch support, but for when you need the extra support for bare feet or in shoes with no support, this definitely helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like these better than plastic arch supports, May 15, 2009

I like these, much more comfortable than harder, plastic supports. That, and I can wear them in my stocking feet around the house. My plantar fasciitis does seem less painful with help from these.
