Product Description

Pro-Tick Remedy now includes a 5X magnifier and a multi-species tick id card. It makes this sometimes difficult and distasteful task easier than any other tool. It's the choice of professionals by a wide margin because it's very convenient to carry and it works . . . easily. The Pro-Tick was superior when tested against other tick removers and tweezers. Here's a quote from a research paper published in 1995. " . . . while others (tick removers and tweezers) broke the tip of the hypostrome and chelicerae (mouthparts) in at least one tick. The Pro-Tick Remedy succeeded in removing all fifty-one ticks without damaging any mouthparts . . . results indicate that the Pro-Tick Remedy removed the most tick cement while causing the least damage . . ." More recent tests against nymph ticks (the dangerous immature ones) showed that the Pro-Tick Remedy removes nymph ticks better than any other instrument. Of critical importance is not only the intuitive ease of use that a tool design offers but also it must be a tool you can carry easily. If you can't carry it, really carry it, and do so without changing your whole lifestyle then it's of no value. The Pro-Tick meets and exceeds any expectation for ease of use and ease of carry. And since it's made of steel you can rely on its precision indefinitely. All models come with detailed information regarding ticks and tick borne diseases, a small bead chain to attach it to your keys and a 5 x magnifier.

I purchased these for the first aid room room at my place of employment. We've been using them for several years and they really last. They are so well liked they tend to walk away, hence the need for a re-order. Please use them exactly as directed and remove ticks properly. Lyme disease is serious and using a tool like this instead of burning or smothering the tick can help reduce the chance of infection.

- I do agree with another reviewer that tiny nymph ticks are hard to remove but I have have not yet found any tool that can pull off ticks as small in size as the period at the end of a sentence. This tool has removed 99 percent of ticks we've run across but we keep a pair of super fine tweezers for the super tiny nymphs.

I am a breeder and have 12 dogs. I live in NJ and we have lots of ticks. I have every known type of tick remover out there and this is the one I like best. Forget about the magnifying thingy, you don't need it. If you use these properly they will last forever. They are efficient and I now give them to all my friends. I'm so glad I was able to find them again on Amazon!

I have Lyme Disease and tick removal is important to me obviously. I still have one get through my protection barriers since I live in the woods and am an Environmental Scientist. I have experimented with most of the ones here on Amazon and found this one to be the best. It didn't look as "cool" as the other tools and as high of quality, but worked way better on smaller ticks(not larva) as well as the larger ticks. The trick is getting it lined up vertically to the horizontal attachment of the tick's body. My husband and I have it down. Pull gently until it lets go. Always works. I just ordered two more so I have one at work and in my backpack. People come running to me here when they find one on themselves, because I have Lyme and know a little. Just found a tick on my back and am waiting for my husband to bring his remover.

This was recommended by my veterinarian in California. It easily pulls ticks from my dogs in California. It doesn't work as easily on the very tiny ticks that are in Maryland. Here it is easier to put a couple drops of dish soap to cover the ticks body and then use tweezers.

Works great for pulling ticks off my dog that are medium to larger size. The small ticks slip through fairly easy though. Weighs nothing, so i alway have this in my med kit on the trail.

Removes ticks, sometimes even in hard to reach places, effectively. Much better than tweezers, which squeeze the bug's body fluid into the patient.
For me, it did require letting the tic grow a bit - when it first attached itself, it was too small

I bought this mostly for getting ticks off of my dog. Of the three tools I have tried this one is the easiest and fastest. The dog is not super patient and he constantly tries to push my hand away or move away or swat my hand when I try to take ticks off of him. I find this tool gets between the tick and the dog faster and easier than the other tools. Also, it is made of steel, so it should last forever (edit: initially I thought it was stainless steel, but now I'm not sure). Works on large or small ticks.
