The Memories!,

This was one of the games I got for Christmas when I got my own Nintendo System. Yup, I was spoiled then... I even got R.O.B. with the package! But we also got this game and a few others so needless to say, I played Nintendo games for the rest of my Christmas vacation and this was one of the games that dominated the machine.
You can play 1 vs. 1 or fight all the way up to meet "The Great Puma" in this one. (How scarey is it that I remember!)I used to play as either 'Amazon', a wrestler that had two special moves - chomping on the face of his opponent and... I forgot the other, but he used to look at the referre when told to stop and shake his head, promising not to do it again. I also used to wrestle as Starman because he used to fly off the top ropes and his rope work was always pretty entertaining, although if you missed it was bad news for him. There were others too that I liked but those were the main ones. The game was a bit easy to finish once you figured out the 'secret'. But it still provided loads of fun. I still recommend it. It's a very simple, neat, classic Nintendo game that provided lots of fun. There wasn't any blood or gore in it like the wrestling games of today and you couldn't whack people with chairs, etc... this was an old 1980's game, for better or worse, and it's one that me and my family enjoyed.

Look at those wonderful graphics and incredible realistic wrestling moves!
Okay, I was being sarcastic there. I hate the fact that no one has reviewed this fantastic lost classic. Pro Wrestling is by far the best wrestling game on the NES. MUCH better than all those WWE games. I used to have so much fun with this game back in the day. On 2-player it is extremely fun. I remember one battle where I went over to my cousins house after letting him borrow this game. I thought he sucked at video games, but when I played him in 2-player, he really started whipping my [...]! In the end, I BARELY beat him. That was a really good moment in time I will always remember. I underestimated his strength. Buy this game and maybe you too will create memories with it.

This review is from: Pro Wrestling (Video Game)
This was the first wrestling game I'd ever played --- in fact, I think it was the first wrestling game ever made, at least for the NES. When I first played it, I was only like seven or eight years old, maybe even a little younger. My brother and I enjoyed playing it together. (We would rent the game; neither of us actually owned it until I managed to snag a used copy several years ago.) I don't remember if I ever actually played against the computer. I liked to wrestle as Amazon because he could bite the other wrestlers' heads. I liked playing as Starman, too, though I don't remember exactly why (maybe it was because I thought he looked cool). This is, by today's standards, an EXTREMELY (some might say laughably) simple wrestling game. There aren't many wrestlers, you can't do many moves, the wrestlers are kind of small, there's no blood, no weapons, and the only modes are the one-player one-on-one "tournament" mode and the two-player one-on-one "exhibition" mode (or could you play one-on-one "exhibition" matches against the computer, too? I don't remember for sure)... But this is an NES game, and one of the first ones at that, so it isn't really fair to compare it to any of today's wrestling games (like the Smackdown games). As early 8-bit games go (or should I say "went"?), this one is a winner.
