Looking good, but nothing more then that,

In short good idea but poor implementation.
The whale point of this device is that it holds the knee cup into the place, however the opening is very narrow and plastic is too harsh, so there is no way to adjust it to user's knee cup size and as such is useless. The strap is cutting into the leg, also since it's not Velcro it won't stretch while you walk, and as a result it pulls the plastic down. Not worth it. I'm returning it.

This product definitely relieved a lot of my patellar pain associated with chrondomalacia. I found the strap easily adjustable and comfortable. It even stays in place during fairly deep bending motions. I wore the bands during a 17 mile training run on very rough terrain-I doubt my knees would have survived the run without the bands. I suspect that the way this band cups the knee cap makes it more effective than other knee straps I have tried-probably due to the improved patellar tracking. Even helped me to start leg pressing and squating again at the gym! Also great when hiking up and down steep terrain.

Last summer I had an incident that resulted in having the cartilege in both knees crushed by carrying excessive weight up stairs. I was unable to drive, in intense pain, on crutches and on very strong narcotic pain meds. As soon as the acute phase let up, I ordered two of these knee braces. Where before it was very uncomfortable to put any weight on my legs, these knee braces stabilized my knee caps and kept my upper and lower legs in alignment. They worked amazingly well - better than I expected but thought I didn't have anything to lose to try them. They exceeded my expectations! After a few months I did not require them anymore. I know they accelerated the healing and gave me a lot of pain relief by keeping my legs and knees stable. The only difficulty I had was occasional slippage out of position. It takes awhile to determine how tight to make then vs. having then slip down. Excellent product concept and very reasonable price for the benefit gained!

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy with extensive experience in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation, I have found that although this knee brace is easy for my patients and clients to put on an off currectly, and it does immediately reduce knee pain, the quality of the construction of the product appears faulty.
I have issued them to several patients/clients only to have them returned within 1-2 days due to the plastic breaking simply as they tighten down the velcro strap (not overly pulling either). So although the basic design and principle is excellent (best pain relief out of all the other standard patellar straps), the actual product is sadly lacking in basic levels of durability. They need to go back to the design board and use materials that will hold up under the pressure. Then they will have a product I will gladly and eagerly dispense and recommend to my patients and clients. Until then, do not waste your money on this device. Go to your PT to learn how to tape your knee or get a Cho-pat or Double Cho-pat knee brace.
