This ProBook does nearly everything I wanted it to do. Although it came with a 128GB SSD with Windows 8, I chose to replace it with a 480GB SSD and installed Windows 7. One nagging issue is keeping my rating at 4 instead of 5 stars;
1. The HP Client Security tools that are required to use the fingerprint reader are not ready for prime time. You cannot simply use the reader without installing the tool suite, which is not necessary for home use. You also cannot use the reader with any browser other than IE. 2. Booting from a power on usually takes less than 30 seconds unless the HP tool suite gets hung up. Then it takes a few minutes to boot. 3. Accessing the BIOS is possible but you cannot make certain changes, due to the tool suite.
Overall this is a great laptop, powerful enough to run Adobe CS5 and Office apps and light enough to carry anywhere.
Pros: Lightweight and powerful, usually quick boot time, ample ports, solid construction, great battery life.
Cons: HP Client Security Suite could be a lot better, average screen.
