Great gloves, very waterproof and pretty warm. We were framing a structure in 25-30 degree temperatures ( snow and freezing rain included....timing is everything!) and we were able to do our job. Were they toasty warm, no, but let's be real!, as long as we kept moving we were fine. We could handle our tools ( nails guns, circ saws, hammers etc) with no problems. Picking up a single nails was not as easy as bare handed, but we could if needed.( I did find myself taking off the gloves to use the phone or take notes with a pencil) Our hands were dry all the time. I bough these and the Youngstown Military style and half the guys liked one or the other. A good idea was to have a few extra pairs to leave inside and keep warm so you can get a new pair after a while. Don't leave them in the truck overnight, keep them inside and the'll be warm in the AM.

These gloves are alright. Most of the time they keep my hands warm. I work in the Frozen Department of a grocery store. So a large amount of my day, my hands are subjected to -10*F temps. The gloves will keep my hands warm unless I've kept them at that temp for longer then about 15 minutes. They do keep my hands nice & dry, witch is a big plus. Also the ProFlex logo on the gloves is just glued on, so it's already peeling off.. The only real issue I have with them, is very little dexterity along with poor grip if you handle items that can permafrost. Once the frost coats the fingers of these gloves, you are SOL if you need to grip anything besides larger objects.

Update April 1 2011
It's been 5 months sense I got these gloves & I should get a new pair. For what every reason, my index & middle finger on both hands have worn through the glove. My right hand ring finger has just 2 layers left before it to has a hole. So seems the nature of below zero, moisture & dealing with cardboard is something these gloves do not like. So gloves pretty much cost me $6 a month for the life I got out of them...

These are excellent gloves for working in moderatly cold weather. I am working in Afghanistan in temperaturs as low as 16 degrees but most of the time it varies between about 25 and 40. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because my hands are still cold in these gloves in this weather. However, In the interest of disclosure, I must confess that I'm a bit of a pansie in this arena. My hands are always cold when no one else's are. In fact these bums that I work with around here tease me about it all the time because I complain loudly. So, in fairness I have to say that these are tough gloves because I work them very hard and wear them constantly. I've had them about three months (longer than any other glove has ever lasted me)and they are still in great shape dispite being repeatedly hung up on sharp flanges on trucks and digging handfuls of sharp drywall screws out of a bucket and all manner of insult. These are great gloves for hard work and supply warmth in moderate cold (except for pansie's).

There is no sizing info shown on Amazon, but I went to the Ergodyne web site as that is the manufacturer indicated on the Amazon listing. They have a sizing chart with these gloves. IT IS WRONG. They simply want you to measure around your palm above the thumb and get the size indicated. According to this I had an inch of circumference to spare on a large size. I ordered a large and when they arrived I could barely force the glove over my hand. I have reordered an XLarge. We will see. I don't know if the chart is wrong or if the gloves are not being made to the correct size at the factory. They are labeled Large. And yes, I do know how to use a tape measure. I have a normal shaped hand and have worn gloves for many years so I doubt it is me. To be honest these don't even look like a large size compared to my other winter gloves.

Amazon was their usual no hassle on returns and exchanges. Gotta love Amazon for no hassle shopping.

The gloves look good quality but I can't rate them for warmth and wear yet. I gave them a 4 star because they look like quality.

UPDATE: The Xlarge fit much better. "fit like a glove", not loose, but comfortable. I have worn them for several seasons now and reordered another pair. They wear well and are a good medium cold glove. When working for over an hour on a COLD day, your hand will get cold. They are not a bulky glove and there is a limit to what even hi-tech insulation can do. For real cold weather, I still use a large bulky thick well insulated glove. These have their place in the world and they do offer good movement when operating machinery, etc. Overall a good glove to have.

These gloves are warm enough to make my hands sweat when it's not bitter cold out (which is a first, I think!), and are strong enough that I don't have to worry when I'm handling things like cut wood scraps and trailer doors and flight cases and whatever else I might have to deal with. Did I mention being waterproof is nice? I did wish they were available in a size small, which would really fit my hands better (I'm a 5'2 woman, not a 5'9 man!), but that's all.

Probably the only things that would handle the weather better would be ski gloves, or even warmer, ski mittens, but they then they might be torn easily. This seems like probably the best compromise you can get for outdoor work.

I've only had them about a month, though. If my opinion changes, I will edit my review accordingly.
