About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

Product was very easy to assemble. Easy to use. The back display is hard to see and when the batteries go down, it's impossible. I don't like that I have to buy batteries for the bike to display, figured it plugged in. Seat is comfy, pedals are smooth and it is great for those who have knee problems! I would recommend!

Nice features and good quality. However, it is quite uncomfortable. It doesn't provide an enjoyable workout experience due to uncomfortable seat and insufficient clearance between seat and console. Could use a redesign.

Pedals smoothly, electronics work well for changing intensity, fan is a nice plus, upright is much more comfortable than a regular exercise bike. Things that could have been better: Ipod system didn't work correctly (it shorts out and sounds like its coming from a barrel), handlebars adjusting front to back would have been helpful, seat is not extremely comfortable - I wish it came off like a regular bike and I could have put on a nicer one.

The first bike came with a faulty control unit. I contacted customer service and they shipped a replacement quickly, so I can't fault them for that.

PROS:
-Inexpensive
-Sturdy
-Easy to put together
-Plenty of features/programs for a starter bike
-Good customer service

CONS:
-The seat that it comes with is AWFUL. Even if you have junk in the trunk this seat is going to make you saddle sore every time. Get a seat cover right away.
-The control unit uses 4 D batteries. An AC adapter is available, but does not come with the unit.

Overall a great value. While it doesn't have fancy features like a heart rate monitor, it does the job.

Don't waste your money. I called Proform and asked if you could stand on the pedals of this bike. They said, "sure, as long as you are less than 250 lbs". So, I bought it.. 2 months later, the belt is shredded. It's still under warranty, so the tech they sent will put a new belt on for free. But, he told me that this bike is meant for "casual use" ( i.e, used as a clothes hanger ) and the belt will keep breaking on me...I called Proform and they won't let me exchange or upgrade because I bought it on Amazon.

Thank you for contacting us.
Amanda did talk with the tech. The previous operator was correct in that we aren't able to exchange the product as it was purchased through Amazon and not through us.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
Sincerely,
Devon
If you are interested, please ask us about accessories, services, and maintenance items to prolong the life and enjoyment of your machine.

Their solution...I should buy an extended warranty and have the bike sit idle every 2 months while I wait to have it fixed..... As soon as the next belt breaks, its in the garbage, a $200 lesson. I would have bought a better one ( or a spin bike ), BUT THEIR OWN CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THIS ONE WOULD DO THE TRICK.

I bought this bike after reading all of the reviews and thought the price was really good for the quality of what it sounded like the bike was.
I was not disappointed when I received the bike. I put it together by myself (They recommend two people but it's not impossible to do alone) and everything works great. I've probably only used it for about three hours as I received it yesterday but everything is working perfectly so far. The wheels are really convenient so I can move it around my living room without a problem.

This item was for my use only. Building time was short, my kid did it for me.
But not for short people. The seat is not as low so the reach btw seat and pedals is a bit short for me.... I am 5.1'. And the seat is not comfortable, its hard and can take a toll on your butt!
I am on it for about 10 mins. (3) times a day. - good item to avoid butt bruising. LOL.
Other than that , its durable, I like it , its not a bulking item - you can leave in any corner of the room.
Thanks Jesus.

I am a very feminine woman and was able to assemble this bike myself. I wanted to avoid the outrages assembly charge so I just simply rolled up my sleeves and read the instructions. The instructions were very simple and the pictures clearly outlined the parts to assemble. In the beginning there was a clicking noise when pedaling but it must have been the bike adjusting itself because it left within 3 workouts. It has been a month now and the bike gives a great workout. It has pre-programmed workouts or you can just start pedalling for the manual setting. I choose the manual program and increase the resistance to give me an excellent workout. If you need to cool down during your workout the fan works well. What's great is that I can already see changes in my legs and that's my goal. The price was excellent at less than $300 and it doesn't take much space. I would recommend the ProForm 280 CSX Upright Bike to all.
