We really enjoy the workout on this elliptical. The game feature is fun, however it does not "distract" you as much as you wish! The workouts are gym quality and you totally feel it the next day. The only complaint we have is that the heartrate monitor does not seem very accurate. I am not sure if there is a problem with the sensor or what, as this is not a show stopper for the actual workout. My goal is to do 30 mins/day and right now I am up to 25. Its very study and the stride is very smooth even though I am short and my other half very tall. We are both very glad that we purchased this model over the other ones and I can honestly say that I like working out on it.

I had been so excited to have finally made this purchase. The set up went well, and that is the last thing that went well for weeks. Literally the second minute into the very first workout, a pre-set workout, while shifting resistance levels, the machine broke. I reportd this to the manufacturer immediately, receiving the snottiest "customer service" rep I've spoken to in a long time, and from there it took 3 weeks to get fixed. First they said I would have a service call completed in 48 business hours. In that time the service rep did call, to tell me that when the parts arrived I was to call him and he'd schedule. The parts were shipped to a wrong address, finally arrived and the service rep arrived. The parts were never used! Apparently there is a known issue with the unit shifting resistances, but no one told me until the service rep arrived. Now that the service rep has completed his work the unit seems to work fine, thankfully. I still have the parts in the unopend box should anything happen again. My emails to the manufacturer during this lenghty process went unanswered. The vendor from whom I purchased the unit refused to assist in this process. I will not ever buy from them again. What happened to standing behind your product?
Now that I can use the unit, the pre-set work outs seem to cover a broad variety so many could use the machine. I don't think the little games they have on the unit to encourage a more strenuous work out are of all that much value. I workout hard to begin with and catch up on news while doing so. Others may really enjoy them.

Difficult to assemble, but good once it is,

Once it's put together it seems very sturdy. But took 2 people 3 hours to put together. Almost everything is put together with an allen wrench, I recommend buying a nice Allen wrench with a handle to get some leverage as some of these pieces are very hard to screw in all the way.
I recommend 1) nicer Allen wrench, 2) exacto knife to get it out of the box and make sure you have an adjustable wrench or you may never get the pedals attached firmly enough which causes them to wobble. I just stepped off of it and it was great, so if you can handle the assembly it's a good product. The pulse handle bars seem flimsy, but everything else seems very sturdy.

My wife and I have had our elliptical for about a month now. Neither of us had used an elliptical before so we don't have much to compare it to.
When the box came, it was really heavy and it was a workout in itself to set it up. It took about 2-3 hours. We haven't gotten it quite leveled yet correctly but it is really solid. We bought it for the game fit technology since we thought the video game could be motivation but when working hard, it is hard to stay focused on the game. Mainly, we use the speakers for pod casts that distract us. We haven't worked our way up to the most difficult workout programs yet but are surprised at how easy all the 20 minute ones are. They only go to resistance level 5 out of 12. I guess for the more difficult workouts you have to spend more time. Overall, we are really pleased that it is actually fun to use and making us much more fit.

The proForm Elliptical Trainer with gameFit Technology was a big disappointment. Assembly was harder than it had to be because most of the screws were hex screws that stripped when pressure was applied, so all the screws and holes had to be lubricated before fastening. Some bolts could not be made to go flush where they were to go. After assembled we could not get it balanced with the feet provided and had to use spare wood lying around to keep it from rocking. The display has revolutions instead of a useful distance traveled like kilometers or miles. The games were small and difficult to play because of their size. If you switch between modes (games, preprogramed, and manual) your time and calories reset. The MP3 dock and speakers worked well. We chose to return it and it cost us $100 shipping.

Mine broke also after minutes of use, having a mechanical background I solved and repaired myself.
The defect is the idler pulley. If a person back steps the trainer while exercising the belt rolls off the pulley. The distance between the main rotor / brake is too far allowing the belt to wobble and shift position then the belt rolls off. This causes an unbalanced jog or jump while training like going over a hump. The repair is to reverse the idler pulley so that the space between the main rotor / brake is shortened. The biggest and most time consuming step to the repair was removing and replacing the covers. It is a beast to put together, make sure you have plenty of room to work on both sides of the machine and lay out the parts, then roll it into area you selected for your trainer. I selected this trained because of my weight; 6'2' @ 230 lbs would destroy the smaller machines bushing and bearings with little use. This machine is sturdy and quite, supports my weight and most of all no squeaks.

When my eliptical arrived at my house, the guy delivering it was mad, because it weighed over 200 pounds. My husband and I began putting it together and noticed that there was a broken bolt inside the box. After getting the machine together, we found out that the broken bolt was actually the inlet for the power supply. The bolt was broken to the point that you could not plug the power cord into the machine. I then called customer service, and they treated me like it was my fault that it was delivered with a broken part. They even argued with me about what the part was. I tried explaining to them what was broken, and they kind of dismissed me and said they were mailing me the part. When the new part arrived, it was the wrong part. They argued with me again about the part, and decided to send out a technician to fix it. The technician was very nice and replaced the part. Afterwards, the company called me and told me that I needed proof of purchase in order to pay the technician. I thought this company was very disorganized and did not know what they were doing. They are not able to help you over the phone. If you buy this product, it would be good not to use Icon Health and Fitness.

So far I am extremely pleased with this piece of equipment. I was even able to put it together by myself though they say you can't, and I am female...yeah women. Anyway I do recommend however that as soon as you get your shipment you take the hardware packet straight to the hardware store and replace every bolt they give you with one that you can get a wrench or socket on instead of those terrible all allen wrenches. Who in the heck invented those terrible things. You are trying to tighten bolds in a very tight spot with an allen wrench. Give me a break. Once I stopped cussing the bolts I had and traded them all out it went much smoother and I am able to really get them tight so the equipment is really steady. Come on manufacturers get this right.

Item arrived on time, took about 2.5 hours to put together. I HIGHLY suggest using an allen wrench attachment on your power drill for assembly. Something we thought of about 1.5 hours into assembly! Makes assembly much faster. The machine is smooth, screen is nice and bright, haven't yet played any games but it offers strong resistance.
