Buying this machine was a terrible mistake. After taking more than a month to get the thing delivered, it did seem easy to assemble. However, after using it for about a week it began making terrible sqeaking noises. I called the company several times before getting any response, and was told that my 90 day warranty was almost over since the shipping period counts in your warranty. OK, so they send a repair guy to my house who said everything just needed to be tightened since the tools they provide you with to assemble are not sufficient to tighten the machine with. Ummm, that's useful. The noise immediately disappeared and I did have about a month of easy use.

Then a louder noise began and all of a sudden one of the metal parts just completely broke at the point where the metal was welded. Now outside of my warranty, excellent. I paid $100 to get a replacement part. Worked again for a week before the squeaking noises started. And of course, a couple weeks after that, the replacement part broke. Now you would think that if 2 separate pieces broke in the exact same place, it must be something faulty with the machine. Doesn't matter as the machine is now outside the warranty and I'm stuck with a pile of junk that I've barely used since purchasing it. Save yourself the trouble and find a higher quality machine! Proform customer service is just terrible!

Bought this in January of 2012, took until Feb to get here. display quit working and they sent me new wires before the 90 day warranty was up. didn't use for several months then put new batteries in and the resistance didn't work. they told me to buy a resistance motor so I did. Just got it replaced and now the console smells like it is burning. called customer service and they want to charge me $245 for a new console!!! I might as well buy a new elliptical with all the money Ive spent on it so far. I bought this when it was brand new on the market and paid $900 for it, I feel like I really got screwed by proform and icon fitness.

Bought this machine less than a year ago. Had to replace the programming mechanism, one of the metal joints that broke where it had been soldered, and now one of the internal metal pieces just broke in two. And customer service sucks. Maybe if you don't use it regularly it would be ok, but if you have the intention of using it several times a week, don't buy!

I unfortunately did buy this off groupon. My husband almost killed himself last week when it snapped at one of the welded joints too. We also found that it snapped in another spot where the 'arm' is welded to the base. But, because it is welded to the base and not part of the base I need to buy replacement parts. So you want me to pay almost $200 for replacement parts when I only paid $400 for the machine? Awful customer service as well, basically said that the warranty was up. Said if the damage was on the base it was covered for 5 years, however the 'base' is only the metal strip that everything else is welded to. So even though it came put together in these areas, it is not considered the base and therefore we are screwed. Offered me %50 off the parts, when they should have been thanking their lucky stars one of use didn't get majorly hurt.

I love my elliptical and was very surprised to see the bad reviews. It's as nice as the ones in most gyms, and while it's true the speakers aren't Bose quality, for a home elliptical they do the job. The iFit workouts are challenging even for an advanced user.

Quality is fine. However, it is more like a stair stepper not an elliptical. The elevation is way off. So if your looking for more of a stepping machine, this one is for you! If I could return it for a true elliptical, I would!

I purchased this elliptical from Groupon about a year ago and was a total waste of money. The fan is worthless because it doesn't amount to much. After about 5 uses, the resistance got stuck on the hardest level and I can't even use it anymore. Furthermore, this thing makes the most annoying squeak with every stroke. There are many things to spend hundreds of dollars on, but this isn't one.

I was afraid to purchase this elliptical because of all the 1-star reviews, but I did it anyway. Turns out that I LOVE this machine! It only took a week to get here and it was easy to assemble. The only thing that I don't like about it is that there's no back light on the screen, so it's a little hard to see my progress. Overall I am VERY happy with this machine.

This machine works fine for me, I'm 5'6" 195lbs, wish the stride length was a tad longer, Everything seems sturdy so far, I bought this about a month ago and wanted to give it a while before writing a review. Easy to put together, did it myself. Took about 2 hours though. One thing I don't like is the plastic covers at the bottom of the handles where the joynt is, fall off once in a while. Moves around easily.
