I don't yet have a winch, but it's good etiquette to have all the equipment in case you need to ask someone to winch you out of a bind. I haven't put this to the test yet, and to be honest I'll try to keep it that way... but it's necessary to have one should the need arise.

The construction is very heavy duty. The loops are flipped correctly, so the shackle will latch to them and not cause the main length to twist. It is immense: it's like two pairs of seat belts in terms of width and thickness. The stitching appears to be adequate, covering the entire width and over six inches of length. The photo makes it look somewhat small, and that's anything but accurate. With all this surface area, it looks like it would provide very nice tree protection.

I'll update this review should I have an opportunity to use it.

Have been pulling trees and using the tow strap to wrap around the tree. This causes excess fraying of the strap and degrades it's overall capability to the point I'm afraid it will break. The tree saver allows me to keep my bigger, more expensive tow strap free of the abuse caused by the tree. I will say that my tree saver now is frayed a bit but when it does break, it'll be cheaper to replace than the entire tow strap!

This is definitely a nice strap, but is a little short if you live in an area with a lot of big trees. I'd say it's good for a 20" tree max, so not so good for use in the NW. I quickly realized after using this strap that 8' is probably more appropriate.

This webbing does exactly what it's designed to do, protects the tree! Three inches wide gives you more area for gripping. I use a 1/2", 3300 lb. oval quick link/locking carabiner through the loops & then attach my hook to the link. Works great & protects the tree.

Have always used 4"x 4' straps, the extra 2' has come in handy a couple of times now. Have had no strength or quality issues.

Went wheeling the other day, used it a few times, and it held up great no problems, the 6' length is perfect in my opinion for a tree saver
