This vise block is to small for the AR15 lower receiver, when inserted into the lower receiver it moves around to much, to get anything done on the lower.

The DPMS vise block is perfect and fits snug as it should when working on your firearm.

Like the other reviewers stated this magazine vise block does not fit the AR15 lower perfectly. What can one really expect for $15?

There are 2 issues with this product which I attribute to poor Quality Control.

1. The vise block does not securely latch onto the magazine-release. To be able to lock the vise block into the AR-15 lower, I had to trim around an extra 1/8" on a groove on the block (I used a small chisel) so the magazine-release can be fully engaged.

2. Even with the magazine lock engaged there was a noticeable wobble. I applied around 2 layers of electrical tape to fix this issue.

I am inclined to attribute these faults with poor quality control. Probably, the molds used to shape these vise blocks during the manufacturing process were not replaced at the required time interval. So as time goes by the original product dimensions were no longer met.

In any case, it was more than half the price cheaper than other similar products on the market. So if you're not into heavy AR-15 gun-smithing and *cheap* is the way you roll, then this is good enough to serve your purpose...8-)

This was an okay product. The only problem was that about halfway through my lower build, the block would no longer stay in my lower reciever. The slot for the mag release wears very easily. Be careful when you flip it over to put on your grip. your lower might just fall off. Other than that, a pretty good product for the price. If you have the money, spring for the Brownell's block, though.

Can't give it anything other then 1 star because zero is not and option. First off I didn't fit my lower. Would not go in far enough to engage the mag release. After some filing and cutting I finally got it to fit and then within a couple of minutes of using it both "tabs" broke off. Maybe others had better luck but for me it was total junk! Good news is amazon gave me a full refund.

Tested on 4 different brands of lower receivers - Palmetto State, MEGA Arms, New Frontier Armory, and Rock River. This receiver block did not satisfactorily secure any of them - a lot of movement, both up and down and left to right. Avoid.

My gun was very loose and would even disconnect if I moved the gun on it too much. I bought a Squirrel Daddy and it is much better.

Would not engage magazine latch. I had to adjust it using a Dermal get it to lock into the mag well. Then, when I dropped it on the cement floor a chip broke off the “wing” broke off. It’s still useable but the plastic is too brittle.

I would suggest that you spend a little more and get either a Plastixrevolution AR-15 Lower Receiver Magazine Vise Block or a CrossTac Armorer's Action Block and Hammer Block set.

I’m leaning towards the CrossTac offering myself but you decide what’s best for your tool box. More money equates to better tools.

Vise block should be a little tighter in the magazine well. Allows too much movement forward and backward and is not as tight as a standard magazine. The vise block does lock in place with the magazine catch which is a plus. Overall it is a good product.
