Customer Reviews

Works great and easy to install.
GSFixit
I doubt if my gun will last long enough to ever use the life time warranty.
tiger
Easy to install - solid, makes for a much softer recoil in the rifle.

Received these today, took me a whole 5 minutes to install one. that included getting the rifle out of the cabinet and taking the stock off, pushing the old pin out, pushing the new buffer in and replacing the stock. It takes more time to write the review...... :) Promag warranties these for LIFE, and you get 3 of them! What more could you ask for!

Found some instructions on you-tube, since I hadn't been that far into my 10-22's. Took longer to disassemble and re-assemble the rifles than it did to install this part! It not only speeds up lock time, but it quiets down that ring in your ears when the bolt cycles. I would recommend this to any 10-22 owner to prolong the life of their rifle!

the purpose of this item is to replace a steel pin in the Ruger 10-22 rifle. by replacing it with a composite it reduces the the felt recoil. It accomplished its mission.

I shoot the gun allot and had two of the Ruger pins break on me. This one should last and has worked fine so far.

there is a trick to using all these recoil pads, that i had to be shown. install the pad AFTER installing the bolt and BEFORE installing the trigger group on the 10-22, or there will be alignment frustration.

Sometimes its the simple little things that can help the most. By replacing the metal recoil buffer in your Ruger 10/22 with one of these proMag buffers you will cut down on the vibration caused by the factory metal-on-metal charger/buffer action. Also slightly reduces the noise as there is no metal-to-metal contact. Cheap & effective.

...lessen that bolt "ka-chunk" action you feel through your jaw. The sound of your 10/22's operation will be reduced so the use of low/no powder is barely noticeable over 25 yards distance.

A problem with these buffer pins is they last for only 150 +/- rounds if you are using standard velocity ammo. I would recommend using these buffer pins with only the low/no powder ammo when needed.

The first pin I used sheared at the receiver after three trips to the range. I'm thinking something may have been wrong with either the pin material or the way I fit it in. I'm on my second pin now and have fired roughly 2/3 of a brick of standard velocity over two trips to the range. This second one is holding up much better than the first. My guess above is really way low.
