Pros:
waterproof
lightweight
comfortable to use
easy focus
great light gathering for use in low light
level of visual aberrations good for this price point

Cons:
Design makes it impossible to adjust to narrow set eyes. There is no way these can be adjusted for a child to use. Yes, they are large for a child anyway, but you tell me what child doesn't want to look at exactly what you just said "OOOoo" about?

I really like the features of these binoculars. They are very lightweight for their size (thanks to the roof prism). The rubber coating is nice and soft and should provide some impact protection as well as making them comfortable to hold. The focus knob is very smooth and easy to reach.
I really don't like the tube spacing. I have narrow set eyes and these simply do not adjust far enough in for me to look through both tubes at the same time. I used them for a night of stargazing and was forced to keep one eye closed and use them like you would a monocular or telescope. The problem is that the objective ends touch before the eyepieces are very close together. There is nothing that could be done about this besides using smaller diameter objective lenses. I'll have to return them which is too bad because they are great otherwise.

These binoculars is just what I was looking for. Initially I had concern that 12 magnification would create too much image shake, but it appeared to be no problem at all. It is definitely not Swarovski. The chromatic aberration is very noticedable. The purple fringing starts about 1/3 from the optical axis. Also I had an impression that the very far away objects are less clear than the objects at few miles distance, but that could be the impact of the air pollution. Nevertheless the image is very clear and sufficiently bright.
Mechanically it is very well made. The only concern I have is that after carrying it on the sun for some time the rubber coating detaches from the base in one place. You can feel it by pressing in that place and the rubber gives is and produces a clicking sound as there is a large air bubble under it. Kind of annoying but does not interfere with anything. Nice touch is rubber caps that are attached to the binoculars so you will not loose them, It is not on the photo.
With all the negatives I described it is very difficult to find something better ever comparable in this price range so I would definitely recommend it.

These binoculars have very good optics. Bright and sharp focus. Excellent lens covers. Front lens covers flip down and the rear covers attach to the neck strap. Eye relief is excellent. The first pair of binoculars I've ever been able to use with my glasses.

Excellent for the price!! Very happy with them for how cheap they were. great clarity! I looked at a bunch of more expensive ones at at outdoor stores with no difference except for the cost!

I bought these binoculars to use when shooting since I hate walking downrange after each group when I zero-in sights. As a poor-man's spotting scope it works fine. I wear glasses and getting proper eye relief is tricky but not impossible. These won't correct for poor vision so wear glasses or contact lenses with these. I originally looked at cheaper binos but the quality was far from what I wanted. I don't use these a lot but I do want them to last a while. I sprung for these since they were the cheapest ones I could find that had the magnification I wanted and were also waterproof/fogproof. Simmons is owned by Bushnell so don't expect these to made in America or be of outstanding quality. You do get what you pay for.

Paid a decent price for the binoculars but the biggest drawback is the focusing is not smooth and precise (in fact, it is difficult) and clarity/contrast is slightly lacking. They are also quite heavy. I do like that they are waterproof, although don't ever intend to expose them to moisture.

EDIT: 01/10/13
I requested a replacement from Amazon and, as always, their customer service was very good and received a second pair. The focusing on this pair is more smooth. The optics seem not quite as sharp as some of my other binoculars, but this pair is slightly more powerful perhaps causing some perceived distortion.

I snagged these off a lightening deal which makes them even better! These binoculars are awesome! I can actually focus them and see crystal clear. The size is perfect not too bulky, but nice and sturdy. The only problem with these binoculars is that they are so much better then my husbands, he wants to steal them.

These bring the action right up close and personal, as the saying goes. Watching birds is an enjoyable pastime whether they are in the back yard, the forest or on the beach. The sharpness of the view is top notch. They are easily adjustable for various eye widths and easy to focus as well. They are lightweight and fit nicely into the furnished cloth case. There are convenient straps for carrying these exellent binoculars. Bird watching has never been better.
