4.0 out of 5 stars T Pain, yo! November 3, 2011

So my 10 year old daughter put this thing on her birthday list. I thought it might be a flop and too silly for her to enjoy but she was persistant. So i ordered one.It is kinda a silly toy but its fun as heck. No, the T Pain button doesn't make you sound exactly as T Pain, but it is a fun and cool effect. The record/playback feature gives you about 3 1/2 minutes of recording. The 3 beats that come loaded on the toy are cool. And the ability to hook it up to your cpu or mp3 player can give it some longevity. It seems real delicate so it will probably get destroyed by a 2 or 3 year old. But for a bit older of a kid, its fun to improvise some lyrics on top of some beats. My kid and I have a ball with it. Good fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars T Pain Microphone September 29, 2011

This is for the Pro Tunes I Am T Pain Microphone. I was walking through the toy store picking up a gift and happened upon this toy- I hadn't ever seen this before but I gave it a try and had to have one. I'm not a T Pain fan, but I know who he is and appreciate how fun it is to let people try this.

I'll be getting one for my nephews as well- there's free shipping here on Amazon, so I'll save the gas of getting it at the store.

Now, it is a little on the light side- I'd have thought it would be a little heavier plastic. You have to take care not to drop it for sure but if you're not all butterfingers about it, you'll have a blast with it.

You can even hook it up to your computer and make editable sound files- very cool extra to a fun toy.

I recommend this- there aren't a ton of toys out there with this much bang for the buck.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun, Not Very Powerful June 10, 2012

The T-Pain mic is a lot of fun in short bursts, but the auto-tune feature is not very powerful. It does get a great reaction when other people (namely, my wife) aren't expecting it. The background beats are pretty fun, too.

Seemed like a fun idea to have a mic that would do the auto-tune effect.
Problem is , this absolutely does not do that effect. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth $1.00
Bought this to use as a gimmick at dj gigs. It doesn't work at all - the "T-Pain" effect just distorts your vocals with reverb. Stay away from this rip-off product!
