5.0 out of 5 stars Weather Station Meets My Approval
I am pleased with this weather station. The installation process went well. There were different size miniature bolts and screws. The directions did not call out the differences so I used the wrong ones. But it was a simple fix. If you watch what you are doing and note the different sizes, you may be able to avoid this small problem. The transmitter range is good...

1.0 out of 5 stars There is nothing good about this product
This is the second weather station I have owned. The first was an Oregon Scientific, where the base station is plugged in and the remotes operate on batteries and solar. This station still works though the wind measurement was never even close to accurate which is why I chose to change. The Proweather station is all batteries which wear out far too quickly and then of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Weather Station Meets My Approval, July 28, 2010

I am pleased with this weather station. The installation process went well. There were different size miniature bolts and screws. The directions did not call out the differences so I used the wrong ones. But it was a simple fix. If you watch what you are doing and note the different sizes, you may be able to avoid this small problem. The transmitter range is good. I like having inside and outside temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall totals, atmospheric barometric pressure, time and date at my fingertips. The inside display is visual well designed. It is also easily reprogrammed. It uses a touch screen and the process is intuitive. For example, the initial setup showed rainfall totals per hour. But my preference is rainfall totals over a 24 hour period. Touch rain on the controller and a "+" button appears on the screen. Touch it and the change was easily made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive doesn't mean cheap, March 4, 2010
This review is from: ProWeatherStation Wireless Data Logging Weather Station (Electronics)
I've had my ProWeatherStation for over a month now.
It comes in a very well designed box with everything needed to get the station up and running, except five AA size batteries.

The assembly/setup and software installation was straight forward following the enclosed instructions. The [...]
web site has the instructions and data sheet available for on line viewing (select - product - then "quick install guide" or "data sheet"

I feel the build quality of the station is very good.

I did have a problem with the station I received (it would randomly drop some outside sensor data) . Dealing with Tycon Power's
(seller) costumer service/tech support was a very positive experiance, all done via E mail. It appeared that they (cs/ts) didn't have any other problems to resolve but mine.

Cumulus (donationware) from [...] can be used with the ProWeatherStation if you want to upload
your data to the internet. (the included software does not have the internet feature)

A quality product with outstanding support at a good price. ProWeatherStation Wireless Data Logging Weather Station

5.0 out of 5 stars Comparison, September 13, 2010

I bought this item to replace an Oregon Scientific Wireless Rain Guage (which stopped working after a year)deciding that I wanted a piece of equipment that would give me more information at a reasonable price but had reliability. Installation and set up was easy with nothing extra to buy except a piece of galvanized pipe (I have an unusual installation). It took only abour 30 minutes to calculate and stabilize the readings it was sending. It has been in operation about 30 days now and works very well. I can't at thisa point say how reliable the system will be over time but so far, very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars ProWeatherStationWireless, September 16, 2010
By
This review is from: ProWeatherStation Wireless Data Logging Weather Station (Electronics)
Have been using this for a few weeks and find the basics work as advertised. I am quite satisfied. Have not hooked up to computer or got deep into the touch screen stuff though. The reason I even offer a review is that I just wanted the basic indoor/outdoor temp/humidity and wind speed/direction and earlier bought a comparable La Crosse Technology station only to find it was basically junk. Good money wasted. This one seems well designed and works for at least what I have mentioned plus barometric pressure, tendency (forecast), time, date (Haven't tried the rain gauge yet). Once adjusted, the screen is acceptable to read and touching screen brings back-lighting for a few seconds (Great for a quick look in the middle of the night). Manual isn't the best but a lot better than the La Crosse. See other reviews for the deeper stuff. The ProWeatherStation Wireless appears to be a good buy but can be purchased for less elsewhere on-line.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Home Weather Station, June 14, 2011
By
Robert C. Bickle "Flightdog" (New Hope, PA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: ProWeatherStation Wireless Data Logging Weather Station (Electronics)
This is an out-of-the box review:

Summary - A GOOD BUY FOR A HOME WEATHER STATION. Buy two AA Lithium batteries and three AA Alkaline batteries.

Background - I received this as a gift from my wife. It is the second weather station we have purchased and replaces the one that stopped stopped working. I use this to see what the weather is at my home and I am not a weather hobbyist, just a normal person who likes to know what he is walking outside into.

Packaging - Everything was adequately protected, no issues.

Instructions - Basic, but cover the need. No explanation about what hardware (screws and two lengths of bolts) go, but figured out in the diagrams.

Construction - Grey plastic throughout. Interconnections with standard telephone line. Made in China. The two steel mast poles give you approximately 36" of

Assembly - Everything was straight forward and it was assembled within 30 minutes. NOTE: The screws have a very small Philips Head and are easily stripped. USE CAUTION and the correct screwdriver. There is also a lot of excess cable. NOTE - Some reviews said not to use Lithium Batteries. The instructions recommend Lithium for the outdoor unit. I followed the instructions and they worked perfectly.

Set-up - Through the touch screen. Fast and easy. It does beep with every touch, something that my wife has already found annoying.

Mounting - I mounted it on the eaves of my shed using an adjustable flag pole mount. I had to wrap the pole in duck tape to insure that it held secure, but it is a good, inexpensive mount.Adjustable Flagpole Bracket - Aluminum

Software - I haven't tried it yet, so no comment.

Excellent Seller. This product arrived in 2 days with no special shipping. Packaging was great. Automatic rain gage dump. It's a bit smaller than it looks in the photos so don't be shocked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, January 6, 2012

I love it, set up was easy and quick. I mounted it on top of my laundry pole, I drilled 3 holes in the provided pole and used leg bolts, perfect! The monitor station has been thought rain, high winds and snow and everything is working great. The temperature and other readings are bang on with my local weather center (airport) that is about 5km away. Shipping was fast! A must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars terrific, March 15, 2012

I purchased this weather station in December and I have not had a single issue or complaint. It was very easy to assemble, set-up and download the software. Although living in the desert denies me the full range of the rain sensor, (at least for the dry season), and the low humidity seems to always show at less than 10%, (this is a desert after all). All in all this was a very improved station compared to my previous station. I have even created a weather atlas for the first quarter of the year. Something to compare to at a future date. Product highly recommended.

We have had this unit for just a couple weeks, and are really enjoying it so far. I wish the instruction book was a bit more user friendly, but otherwise a good product.
