The proactive refining mask is the only product out of the entire proactive product line that worked for me. Anything else was either drying me out or just plain ineffective.
I don't use this every day but when I feel or see a red bump forming underneath my skin (the prelude to a wonderful full-blown zit!), I will apply the refining mask to that area and the next day it will be completely gone. One thing to note here is that I also use tea tree oil at the SAME time, 100% Australian Tea Tree Oil + FREE Blemish Roll-on Stick with Tea Tree Oil.
I have done my own experiment where I tested the refining mask on its own and it totally slows down the pimple from rising to the surface, but when I also swab it with the tea tree oil, it actually retreats back into my skin, so it never really matures into a full blown pimple.
I know everyone's skin is different but I wouldn't bother with any other proactive solution than this one. I've tried them all and this one definitely works. The tea tree oil is amazing as well, just wish I would have figured this out ten years ago!

I've used this mask for years. When I was younger (teens and early twenties) I had oily acne prone skin and used the entire Proactiv system. Now that I'm 30 and my skin has dried out, I use this mask once, or twice a week to clear my pores and to calm inflamed pimples. It works best after a shower when skin is soft and the "gunk," in your Tzone is soft, too. I apply, hang out for twenty or thity minutes and rinse with warm water, or exfoliate with a warm wash cloth. Results are not permanent, but for a few days at least, bye bye blackheads. Remember, for BEST results, use this mask after your shower, or steam your face carefully over a pot of hot water with a towel (to catch the steam) and apply when skin is warm and soft. =o)

Hey guys,
I bought this product like 2 weeks ago and let me tell you how amazing it is! We probably all tried Pro Active 3-step system and for some (or should I say few) it showed drastic improvement in their skin, and well for others it only made it worst! I happen to fall under the category of the worst signs of improvement. The face wash made my skin extremely irritated and since it left a greasy residue it caused me to break out even more! Well, now that they been selling the 3-step system with the refining mask and green tea lotion I was very curious to see if these little items worked better then the whole system. My cousin had purchased pro active (which came with the refining mask and green tea lotion) and I decided one night to put a dab of the Refining Mask on all my big stress pimples, and once I woke up the very next morning my pimples were minimized and the redness dramatically reduced!! I was SHOCKED! So I had to check on Amazon.com to see if they even sold the product separately, and they DID! I would seriously recommend this product to those of you who are experiencing acne bumps or any other kind of acne you might have! The green tea works pretty well, but I use SCAR ZONE A, and it works WONDERS on my acne scars! (You can also purchase that on amazon $7.98).
