Book Description

The Proactive Twelve Steps are an adaptation of the original Twelve Steps that describe the “steps” as a self-directed process—as opposed to a mystical process in which change somehow happens to you.

Editorial Reviews

"I just finished reading your contribution to divorcing fathers on the Net. It is a useful framework for handling the emotional, frustrating odyssey of divorce and its gut wrenching processes." (Rafael) "Thank you for putting your steps on the internet. I have printed them out for my husband who is going through a very difficult process of possibly "losing" his children (my stepchildren) again as their mother decides to move out of state. I think these pages will help. Thank you for your bravery courage and honesty. Keep the faith." -- Sybil

"I work for a Head Start program in Oregon and have been doing a Men's Discussion Group for 3 years. I applaud the information that you are disseminating to Dads and know from personal experience the pain associated with being a non-custodial parent. ...Thanks again for your web site. The information will be put to good use here in Oregon." -- Tom L.

"Many, Many thanks are extended out to you on your site... I have been dating the most wonderful man, who just happens to be a divorced dad." -- Cindy

"Your pages gave me the relief that I needed for the very brief 'flashes' of anger that I had for my 'going-to-be-ex-wife' thanks for that.... goes to Jesus.... and yourself." -- Warren J.

I work in the field of addiction, and I am also a person who struggles with codependency. I find it difficult to relate to the 12-steps in correlation with codependency, and I was blessed to find this way of looking at the 12-steps. It's simple, effective and has a way of explaining it just right. I will definitely refer to this often.
