Edition 2001: Well written and example well chosen,

This review is from: Probability: A Complete Solution Guide to Any Textbook (Problem Solvers) (Paperback)
However, it has missing subchapter entries from the Context, missing labels for figures and tables, poor Glossary and poor Index. Finding a subject of interest is a real challenge. The book suffers from numerous mistyping errors. The most frequent: part of expressions from nominator are put in the denominator for no mathematical reasons, and column headers shifted to the left in tables. As a result, one may expect to spend significantly more time studying it and still be confused. It needs more figures and professional proof reading to become an excellent book. The final solutions to the Problems are correct.

The book is not the "A complete Solution Guide to Any Textbook" that it promises to be. It has plenty of problems, but it tends to be targeting novices in probability. MGF's, Stratified sampling, joint distributions are not dully covered. It includes a Chapter on Markov Chains and Martingales. Although explanation is adequate the deapth of the coverage is inadequate.

Not a complete review,

I used the Stochastic Processes section to gain an intuitive understanding of what these beasts are about. I recommend that section for it simplicity to anyone who wants to get more than the abstract stuff that floats over the head of most people in contemporary textbooks.
