Book Description

April 1, 2008
In Probiotics and Digestive Health, you will learn that your overall health depends on the healthy functioning of your digestive system; not only does it pull nutrients from food to nourish the body, but it participates in protecting it against diseases. The bacteria that populate the digestive tract play a major role in both of these functions. Imbalances in the types of gut flora--friendly versus harmful--can lead to digestive upsets which, if left unchecked, can lead to far more serious health problems. One such disease is Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS, is the most common chronic medical condition in the Western World. Approximately 40 percent of those suffering with IBS have symptoms severe or frequent enough to disrupt their daily lives. In Probiotics and Digestive Health, you will learn how Probiotics work and why they are so critical for regulating overall digestive health. In addition, you will learn the differences between Probiotic strains and the promise of a newly discovered strain--Bifidobacterium infantis 35624 (Bifantis)--for relieving IBS and other GI problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars A clear language book which explains how you can naturally rebalance your digestive system with probiotics to help control IBS, April 9, 2008
This review is from: Probiotics and Digestive Health: A Gastroenterologist's Perspective (Paperback)
Dr. Quigley, a world-renowned Gastroenterologist, explains in easy-to-read language how probiotics (good bacteria) interacts with our body's immune system through our gut, to help regulate our digestive health. Dr. Quigley explains how his research and studies with a particular strain of bacteria, Bifidobacterium infantis 35624 (Bifantis), have shown strong evidence to ease the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome as well as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. This is a unique book which helps to demystify the complex interaction that each of our bodies share with the billions of good and bad bacteria that roam our guts. I highly recommend this book.

2.0 out of 5 stars ALIGN PROPAGANDA, December 6, 2011
This review is from: Probiotics and Digestive Health: A Gastroenterologist's Perspective (Paperback)
This 44 paged booklet is slightly more informative on the subject of probiotics and Bifantis than a hard-target search on the internet would be. In other words, don't waste your money on it.
