Good-natured Ben Healy (Ritter) and his social-climbing wife Flo (Yasbeck) adopt seven-year-old Junior (Michael Oliver) to help brighten their lives. But Junior soon turns an ordinary camping trip, an innocent birthday party and even a little league baseball game into full-scale comic nightmares. Thinking all his new son needs is some loving attention, Ben puts up with Junior's mishaps but only to a point. Just as he's ready to take drastic action, Ben realizes that beneath the little monster lurks an angel craving affection in this satire on the trials of modern-day family life.

Problem Child is an all time fun movie to watch. Micheal Oliver does a tremendous job playing Junior Healy, a devilish child who creates chaos for particularly no reason at all. Even as a child, he placed under the door steps of many familys because nobody wants him. Even in the orphanage, the nuns want to get rid of him and threaten one of their employees , Mr. Peabody (Gilbert Godfred who happens to be a huge loud mouth like Chris Tucker), to make sure it gets done or he gets fired.
Anyway, the story is also about a couple by the name of Flo (Amy Yasbeck) and "little Ben" Healy who really want a child. Flo is a real pain in the neck and Ben's dad ,"BIG Ben" healy, totally hates him. studies have shown it can't be possible for them to give birth to a child but they can adopt one. Mr. Peabody tricks them into thinking that junior is a good boy and that is just the beggining. Junior makes things a living hell and at the same time junior's "hero" ,Martin Beck (Micheal Richards) who happens to be wanted criminal, wants to find JR and be partners in crime with him because he thinks junior is an x-con.
This movie will bring you lots of laughs. This is one movie you can't miss. If you thought kids like Dennis Mitchell (Dennis the Menace kid)or Bart Simpson were america's #1 brats, well think again because this movie just might change your mind. Buy this because it is going to be worth it!

I am ashamed to admit it, but this movie appeals to the 3rd grader in me. It is a horrible movie, but that's what makes it so funny. Problem Child 2 is even worse, and even more funny.

What is the problem with people who hate this movie so bad what is so horrible about this film? I laugh everytime I see this movie it is very fun to watch not boring but I admit the some of the story is rather stupid but you have to expect it with a movie like this. I have seen so many more stupiter movies than this. Of course all of you people can complain that if you like this movie you have some serious issues SHUT UP! John Ritter was good with kids in it and the other actors were alright but have a light heart while watching it don't take the film seriously just sit back and laugh at it it is a fun movie. And some other reviewer said that they got physically ill after watching this movie What the hell is that all about? I really cannot think of one thing that can be so bad in this movie that makes people hate Problem Child so bad it is a funny movie.

My grandchildren ages 9 and 12 love this movie. It has a good story and teaches a lesson about good and bad. Also shows what a little love can do for someone.

There's quite a bit of funny stuff in this movie, especially with regards to the crooked Mayoral candidate Big Ben, and the weasley Orphanage manager Mr. Peabody. Everyone on this movie is a criminal except for John Ritter's friendly dad character.

This film has a lot of inappropriate stuff in it, so I don't think it's for kids. It's pretty childish though, so it doesn't seem to be for adults either. I don't know who it's for. I think it was a success in sales anyhow.

Seriously, Junior should have been slapped upside the head. The kid was bad. Nobody should have had to tolerate his crud, even though everyone else in that little town was a crook too.

Big Ben's the funniest character in the series. The man's a crook. Claiming to be All-American and selling out to the Japanese, and mooning everyone on TV. I guess he deserved to have his car window ruined by Junior. That was pretty funny actually.

This is a rude and crude movie, but fun to reference.

To all the haters, you have no sense of humor. This movie is so funny....I just shared it with my 7 1/2 yo and I can describe his enjoyment in four letters: ROFL.

He can tell the difference between fantasy and reality so there were no adverse side affects. (e.g. no foul language from his mouth, no kicks in the groin, no stealing, etc.) Just laughs.

To all the parents out there who have met the obnoxious super-dad, try not to laugh during the bear scene. I dare you.

And for those of you who might have been an outcast when it came to sports, tell me you got no enjoyment from the little league scene.

Bottom line, the kid IS a problem child; a victim of circumstance and, despite the movie's goofy exterior, there is a strong message in the center that says love can crack even the toughest shells.
