5.0 out of 5 stars Tesla the unsung hero
As I learn more about Tesla, I have come to realize that Edison and his supporters have done this genious a great wrong. Much of our electric comforts and wonders are founded in the aspiration of Tesla, not Edison. This book will provide insight to the depth of the man, but it alone can not encompass Tesla's true genious. I would recommend reading some background info...

3.0 out of 5 stars A mixed blessing - Fabulous Read - Poor Print
This is a very badly reproduced reprint of the article written by Tesla from Century Magazine. The entire document looks like a cheap photocopy and the contrast of the photographs makes them useless as a reference. The booklet contains ~38 pages of Tesla's musings which show him a man ahead of his time in 1900. The rest of the book (over 1/2) is a collection of "Mystical...

The rest of the book (over 1/2) is a collection of "Mystical Drawings" also badly reproduced. Kessinger Publishing spared all expense in throwing this document together and did not give this visionary, his philosophies, nor his predictions the deserved treatments.

Due to the poor quality of the text and photos, I give it a 1 but the author a 5+!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solving a Problem With No Easy Solution, September 17, 2009

This review is from: The Problem of Increasing Human Energy (Paperback)
This book offers a great insight into the mind of one of the geniuses of all time. Tesla converts how we reach enlightenment (increasing human energy) into a mathematical equation and shows how we can achieve that end.

He discusses how to end war, or the wasteful use of human energy, a negative force, to how to obtain positive energy cheaply, to energy transmission throughout the planet. Like most of the ancient philosophers, he was both a man of science and a man of religion and spiritualism.

The only downside to the book is that he refers to drawings of some of his experiments, but there are none in the book. It would have been nice to see these, no matter what the quality.

It is short, 80 pages, and an easy, worthwhile read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Our world today, seen from the past, May 28, 2010

This review is from: The Problem of Increasing Human Energy (Paperback)
In this book Tesla explores the various means by which we can and must increase our energy. He also foreshadows many modern technologies such as a means to communicate with anyone around the globe instantly (the internet), and many of the green technologies we see today. Throughout the book Tesla makes stunning predictions that reveal his unique insights into what the future would (and has) become. He also outlines solutions to some of our modern problems such as overpopulation by increasing energy.

It is a very unique book from a very intelligent scientist and I would highly recommend this book for everyone.

I found this piece of writing and other non technical works by Tesla invaluable when doing essays on creative thinking and problem solving. Tesla was good at describing how he did his thinking.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic, September 13, 2009

Every student of science ond philosophy should read this book. It should be added to the Harvard Classics "five foot shelf". Many may realize that Tesla was the most underappreciated scientific genius of his era, but all too few understand that he was also an underappreciated genius of human philosophy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tesla was actually just a human after all, July 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Problem of Increasing Human Energy (Paperback)
So much has been written about Nikola Tesla that seems to build him up to near a god like person, when really he was just a human after all. Very smart, yes, but just a human like you and me. This short book written in Teslas own words give an insight to his thinking as to practical matters that we are still dealing with today. Even though this was written over 100 years ago, much of this book could have written today and still make sense. See what Tesla was thinking and what he was really trying to do. Every time you turn on a light switch in your home, thank Nikola Tesla as he made the transmission of AC current the standard that the world uses today.
Yes it is true that Nikola Tesla lost his focus and was found in his later years to be talking to Pigeons on a window ledge as they became his best friends rather than dealing with people, but this was written before this happened. Anyway I found The Problem of Increasing Human Energy by Nikola Tesla to be interesting reading and I think you will too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tesla was amazing., October 18, 2008

This book gets you into the mind of Tesla, and you will understand that ultimately he was trying to save the world. Some of his ideas seem "out there" but Tesla was never afraid to think on a large scale. And thanks to him we have many of the luxuries we enjoy today.
