In 9 simple steps outlined in this book and and 9 types of algebra problems, you can solve any algebra problem. The 9 steps are: 1. Read the problem 2. Ask what is the unknown 3. What are the givens explicity stated 4. What are givens implicity or tacitly known 5. Assessing variable names: indepdent and dependent variable: y=f(x) 6. State the relationship between the givens and the unknowns and use a drawing to illustrate 7. Formalize in an equation and use a drawing to illustrate 8. Solve for the unkown 9. Double check the answer in the equation. The nine types of problems: 1.age 2. gemetry 3. work 4. mix and value 5. Money and coins 6. Rate 7. Interest (harder but doalble) 8. Accleration 9. Minimal and Maximal values.

Great book, with a pairing of an examples and and exercise problems several times in each chapter, with 5-10 exercise problems at the end. All the answers are contained in the book.
