There are problems at Plymouth Rock, and Beth and Patrick are caught right in the middle of it all! In this book, the sixth in "The Imagination Station" series, the cousins are in hot pursuit of a man named Hugh who has used a special ring to leave his time (medieval ages) and stir up trouble during the colonial times in North America.
After using the Imagination Station in Whit's End, the cousins come face to face with Hugh and try to convince him to return to his time. Fearing punishment, Hugh runs away and suddenly, Beth and Patrick are surrounded by a bunch of Native Americans, with arrows!

Through a series of events, Beth and Patrick find themselves among the crowd at the first Thanksgiving, but Hugh is stirring up trouble again and the celebration may be ruined!

Compared to Showdown with the Shepherd, this book lacks a bit when it comes to drama and a smooth plotline. Though it's still a good read, it seems like the authors are stretching a bit to develop a climax to the storyline. However, it's still great work and a worth taking a look at. Why not buy all six books in the series for a Christmas gift? At only $5 each, it's something worth thinking about!

I homeschool my two children and we have been discussing the pilgrims. This was a great book to read to help them to imagine what the times may have been like. They kept asking me to read more and we finished the book in no time.

The Imagination Station is a great series for boys. Our 6 year old loves these books. He finishes one and can't wait to move on to the next. They are a great Christian series that is not violent and graphic. We love these books.

Cousins Beth and Patrick have been hopping through time on adventure after adventure on the trail of Hugh, an evil Englishman from the 1400's. They have managed to follow him to Plymouth and need to capture him before tensions rise to a boiling point between the Pilgrims and the Indians. Will the cousins be successful or will they change the course of history forever?

I've grown up loving the Adventures in Odyssey Radio Series. When I saw that the Tyndale Summer Reading Program had several of the Imagination Station books on the reading list, I happily requested some from the library.

This is book 6 in the Imagination Station books, and they don't have to be read in order. I love how the kids learn truths like how to depend on God and to share with others. I think that kids would really enjoy these books.

I enjoyed how the cousins got to experience the first Thanksgiving and meeting some of the Pilgrims. I can easily see how kids would be fascinated with the cousins' adventures.

I rented this book from the library to read as part of the Tyndale Summer Reading Program. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

Recommended to fans of Adventures in Odyssey, Magic Tree House, I Survived Series, kids ages 7-9.

Unlike most of this series, this book didn't seem to have a point - other than to wrap up the 6 book story arc that begins with book 1. The story seemed a little forced, but overall I believe young readers will love this book. It does contain a prologue to catch you up in case you missed the first 5 books in the story line, which is nice.

The larger than normal font, many illustrations, and easy to understand language make this series ideal for young elementary aged children.

I was so excited to have been contacted about doing a review of the new Imagination Stations books from Tyndale House and Focus on the Family. There are currently 6 books, with book 7, 8, and 9 scheduled to be released next year. The Imagination Station books are written for ages 7 and up. They are all around a 2nd grade reading level, but older kids enjoy them and they make great read-alouds for younger kids.

If you are a fan of the Adventures in Odyssey from Focus on the Family, these books tie in with Mr. Wittaker's Imagination Station. Two cousins, Patrick and Beth, are thrilled to find out that they can help Mr. Wittaker by traveling to different time periods. These books are about their adventures! My review will focus on book 5, Showdown with the Shepherd, and book 6, Problems in Plymouth.

"In Showdown with the Shepherd, Patrick and Beth go to the Holy Land in the tenth century BC. Their goal is to get back the ring Hugh stole and return him to 1450s England where he belongs. But troubles await them as soon as they step out of the Imagination Station. First they meet an angry bear and later an angry giant. Set against the backdrop of the David and Goliath story, the cousins learn that having a giant faith is more important than having a giant on your side.
Patrick and Beth's next adventure leads them to Plymouth Plantation in 1621. There they meet William Bradford, Miles Standish, and Squanto who are trying to establish peace between the Pilgrims and the Indians. Things are anything but peaceful, however, when a musket is stolen and the Pilgrims conclude the Indians are planning war. Only Patrick and Beth know who the real thief is--the traitor Hugh--and it's up to the cousins to find him and stop him from causing trouble.
