There are many field geology guides out there, but not many which concentrate on technical how-to with standard geology field instruments, and are small enough to fit in your back pocket and glovebox with room to spare. An excellent reference resource with many illustrations for college or professional students first learning the time-tested hand tools of the geology trade, such as the Brunton, Jacob's staff and the like.
