Solid Text for Advanced Writers,
By
This review is from: The Process of Composition (Reid Academic Writing), 3rd Edition (Paperback)
This is a solid text for advanced writers--writers at the beginning of their university career. The many samples of student writing provide useful models for many kinds of writing--informative, argumentative, problem-solution, investigative writing, research writing. I also find that the many samples written by international students appeal to and interest my international students. I appreciate the samples of technical and scientific writing as well as more general academic assignments. There is also a helpful section on field research, i.e.,interviews and surveys--something many textbooks omit, but which my students need help with. I sometimes am frustrated with the organization of the book and I sometimes wish for more examples of whole essays and fewer examples of pieces of essays, but I don't know any other book that does as much in a relatively small and relatively affordable space.

The content of this book is very good. I bought it at my university. First, I think it is not good but I gradually change my mind because the topic is important such as report writing, survey writing, resume etc. At the end of the book are some of grammartical exercise suitable for those whose grammar is at intermediate to advanced level. I recommend this book
