Without meaning to engage in hyperbole, this is by far the clearest book on signal processing that I have found. The authors write with Gallic clarity and Italian joi de vivre, with the conviction that signal processing should be fun, and should at the same time be explained with mathematical precision. I thank and congratulate the authors for this brilliant book and eagerly await their forthcoming two-volume treatment, the second of which will cover wavelets. Throw the rest of your signal processing books away--and have fun!

Very well written with enough Mathematical rigor that many details about filter properties and design become intuitive. I would use it as a text for students with a good Mathematics background.
