5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for anyone, but especially procrastinators, November 18, 2008
By
This review is from: Procrastinator's SOS Planner: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
I got the 2008 calendar as a joke, but found it to be super useful. The to do list makes you think about what needs to get done and what can be put off. There is a great sense of accomplishment when you can darken the smiley face (meaning you completed the task) and motivation to complete unfinished tasks when you darken the frown face. It is hard not to love the short topic/reminder articles. Not only are the tips for how to accomplish tasks that procrastinators struggle with, but there are also levels of engagement so that cronic procrastinators don't have to feel guilty when we do not achieve perfection. Another benefit of the articles is the timeliness. For example, the holiday planning article appears in October. It reminds me to think about holidays and add items to my to do list before I run out of time. The key is using it and I found it to be small and flexible enough to tuck into a work notebook or my purse. It helped me so much, I even ordered my 2009 copy a month and a half before the year ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like any good procrastinator..., December 12, 2008

This review is from: Procrastinator's SOS Planner: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
...I used the 2008 planner (which I received as a gag-gift) for the first few weeks of the year, lost it, and then remembered it in October. I absolutely love the side articles that remind me about important things like taxes, remembering to clean out my refrigerator, and of course buying the 2009 calendar. These are things I can't remember to do on my own, or just never find motivation to do. I would recommend buying this for the procrastinator you love as a gentle reminder that they might be able to learn to plan ahead sometimes; it's also great knowing that they won't buy this (or any) planner for themselves.

I've been using basic planners for the past 6 years or so, and this year I decided to spice it up once I came across the Procrastinator's SOS planner. I am a HUGE procrastinator (why I'm writing this a while after I got the item while I'm supposed to be working) and I definitely appreciate the humor of this planner! It has a lot of funny bits of information, some of which are just amusing, and some of which are actually really helpful! I love the options to list things I need to do and to check off the smiley face when I complete it, or the frowny face when I don't (a week later of course). And I love the categories in the to-do lists: Gotta Do This Week, Should Have Done Long Ago, If Not Now... Whenever, Trying to Delegate, Holding Out For Pressure, and Hoping It Goes Away. I showed the planner to another friend and she loved it too! I'd buy her one, but that'd be too much effort.

4.0 out of 5 stars Funny, well-organized planner, February 9, 2009
This review is from: Procrastinator's SOS Planner: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
After years of using 'The Far Side' desk calenders, I was at first quite disappointed to not find one this year. However, the substitution of my favorite calender with the 'Procrastinator's SOS Daily Planner' has proven to be an excellent choice. The organization includes each week at a glance, along with a fun 'To-Do (or Not)' list on the side of each page. There is even a check list to indicate completion of items - and it always feels good to cross things off! Finally, there is also a fun page each week that includes a relevant topic (e.g., Valentine's Day this week) and suggestions, which are quite humorous. If you like a dose of humor and fun with your planner, in addition to great organization, I would recommend this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good planner, February 5, 2009
This review is from: Procrastinator's SOS Planner: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
This planner is completely sufficient for my needs. I like the humor too. I only hate that when you write on a page it marks the page underneath too. My old (another brand) calendar did the same thing. It's annoying.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the happy faces!, July 23, 2009

This review is from: Procrastinator's SOS Planner: 2009 Desk Calendar (Calendar)
The thing that makes it, for me, is the space on each page to list what you have to do, and a happy and sad face to fill in when you do it (or don't). I find it ridiculously motivating to fill in the happy faces. The rest of the calendar is just ok; not as fun as a Far Side and rather boring in color. The procrastination pages are sometimes useful, but I do wish there were a bit of blank space on each page for notes--perhaps at the bottom of the procrastination pages. That said, the happy faces are so great that I will be buying this calendar again next year.

Not only is this planner humorous but it is also very effective. The lay out is logical and I am so glad I purchased this planner. ANd I have told all my fellow procrastinator friends about it!

This is my third year with the Procrastinator's SOS Planner and I absolutely love it. Each page contains a chuckle and is set up in a great way for me. For example, there is a list where one can place things to be done in order of importance and urgency and the subtitles go from "Gotta do this week" right down to "Hoping it goes away." Even more brilliantly, there is a place to check off all the things that were or weren't accomplished for the week. Love that! My only issue with this book is that it doesn't change at all from year to year. The witticisms, thoughts and suggestions are repeated in each book. I'd love to see some fresh observations in 2010 though I'll probably buy it either way.
