5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!
This is a quality product, perfect for cooking for 1-3 people (smaller families, college students, etc.). I highly recommend it. It is so easy to use and fuss-free. Also, most smaller crock pots have only one setting, but this one has three (high, low, and keep warm). It has a nice glass lid and a removable ceramic crock, both of which you can clean in the dishwasher...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Size for One
For one person this is a good size. It has excellent appearance and performs well.

Two complaints: The cover will not allow condensed liquid to drain back into the crock; it can run over the edge and down into the base (a mess!, needless to say). The cord is CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP. Stiff as a dog's hind leg with rigor mortis. Most aggravating...

This little slow cooker has everything you need: removable crock, longer cord, three (*3*) heat settings, glass metal-rimmed lid, small footprint. As far as I can tell, it doesn't overheat, even on high. I just made a wonderful roast in it: about 1.5 lbs chuck roast (trimmed), 1 medium Walla Walla sweet onion, 2/3 can low-sodium beef broth, 2 Tbsp worcestershire sauce, and 1 Tbsp no-salt garlic/herb seasoning blend; brown the roast in a little oil, put in crock with other ingredients; cook on high for 4.5 hrs or on low for 8 hrs should do the trick; thicken the juice with a little cornstarch for gravy to serve over mashed potatoes --- HEAVEN!!!

It's the perfect size for 2-3 chicken breast halves, a small pork roast or a pork tenderloin or two, a nice small pot of soup, etc. You should get enough for a meal today plus leftovers for a couple of additional meals.

Clean up is a breeze with the removable crock, and the exterior of the unit cleans just fine with a damp cloth. The small footprint allows for out-of-the-way placement on the countertop for cooking, and easier storage.

I'm an older adult grad student, and this little cooker is going to get a lot of use this winter while I'm working on my thesis. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for a small slow cooker for dips, appetizers, whatever, this is it. It's got 2 of the most important features to look for in a slow cooker, a removable crock and a keep warm setting. I don't know why, but these features are kind of hard to find on smaller crock pots. I have another one this size that only has an on and off setting with no removable crock. It will never be used again.

Unlike most of the other little crockpots, this one is the real deal in miniature, not a dip-heater. When I have to take a dish to a party I drag out the monster crockpot, but for just the two of us this is perfect! I can throw in a meal early in the day whenever I am not busy and it will be sitting there ready to eat when my husband rolls in that evening. In his job it's hard to tell when he'll get home so I really appreciate crock pots. No rushing around cooking at the end of a long day... trying to put something on the table when you are ready to blob out on the sofa. This one cooks a small meal and the removable little crock fits easily in the dishwasher, or in the fridge if there are leftovers or for cook-ahead items. It does a great job on small quantities of dried beans, too, giving about the equivalent of a canful the first day and then coming back out of the fridge the next day for the chili. I haven't tried pinhead oats overnight in this yet but that is something I will do, since I love oatmeal and my husband hates it. It'll make just enough for me. This is exactly what I was hoping for: crock pot convenience without the gallons of leftovers!

4.0 out of 5 stars good, March 31, 2007

It's the first slow cooker I've owned and I have cooked one meal with it only, today, but I like it already. It's $20 and it's basic (no power light for example, which feels odd for any kitchen device) but it has a good quality internal white ceramic pot and glass lid. Three settings - keep warm, low, and high - and nothing else (no timer, no automatic way to switch from cook to keep warm). I had read that some slow cooker lids rattle while they're cooking, but happily that problem did not show up, on low cooking anyway. I cooked a meal for eight hours, and it did not show any signs of drying out, so I think it will be fine for leaving on low heat during the work day. The internal pot lifts out for serving, and it cleaned up immediately I put it in hot soapy water. Size is fine for two or three servings. I'm now kind of glad I could not get the Breville slow cooker (good reviews but much bigger, and out of production) and opted for this because it's small and simple but it does the job!

1.5 quart slow cooker.

This product has extended my expectation of independent living. At coming 90 years of age,the simplicity of cooking and safety of never burning or boiling over, has removed a major problem of having to be aware every minute of stove or oven use

Note: I use a bent wire to hold one side of the cover up about 1/16" and this solves the drain-back problem. The crock rim should be designed to do this.

This review is from: Proctor Silex 33015 1-1/2-Quart Round Slow Cooker (Kitchen)
This is just great for 2 person family, you can cook just the amount you need without a lot of left overs. It will also handle food for 3-4. Any more than that you best drag out the big one.
We are happy with ours.

This crock is great, just the right size to keep dips warm. The 3 settings keep whatever your keeping warm from scorching. The removable crock is a breeze to clean.

I needed a small cooker for dips, and this unit has proved to be the perfect choice. Well made, inexpensive, and versitile temp control. It will fit in nicely with my two larger cookers. BUT, I've got to question all the reviewers that said it's perfect for small families. How small are we talkin' here? Like Barbie doll size? This is a tiny cooker. It will hold 3-4 chicken breasts, or one very small chicken. It would cook just about the right amount of oatmeal for two adults, but beyond that it's suited for two adult sized entree at best unless you pack it with food and sit on the top.

Here's a good small sized recipe:
Brown 1.5# of cubed pork chunks(shoulder or butt) and add to cooker with one medium sliced onion, 1 chopped jalapeno pepper with seeds, 1 tbsp salt, 1 tbsp minced garlic(or 4 whole cloves) and one can crushed tomatillos. Cook overnight on low. Fill tortillas and add chopped onion, sour cream, and cheese if you like. Enjoy.
