Perfect size for 1-2 people.

Its low setting cooks around 185 degrees, its high setting brings the food to a very slow bubble, and it does the job superbly in a 1.5 quart crock.

I inherited this little treasure and what a treasure it is! I made lasagna without turning an oven on. It's 90 outside. Do I want lasagna? YES!
I used the lasagna noodles you don't have to precook to make it even easier. I thinly sliced summer squash, eggplant and also used baby spinach.
Just make sure you put sauce on the bottom, before you start layering. Make it the way you always do.
I like to mix tomato paste with ricotta cheese because I love the intense flavor.

It's Summer - WHY turn on an oven? There are even cake recipes for crock pots. I have a 4 quart one too but this size is perfect for smaller families. Really easy clean up.
I wasn't sure if the smaller size would cook as well. It Does!

I just bought the white version of this slow cooker from a large electronics store. They had two versions of this cooker piled together and selling for the same price. I'm guessing it's the newer model that does not have a light to indicate the power is on. Also this model does not have the slot for the labels. These units have a model number ending with a "Y" (as in "Why do you need a power light?"). I suppose the power light isn't really necessary, but it's a good reminder when the unit is left on by mistake.

Otherwise, I love the size of the cooker. I don't need to make meals for large parties and it doesn't take up much counter space. Even though it's inexpensive, it still has a glass cover with a rubber gasket and lets you choose between warm, low and high cooking temps. The rubber strap to hold the lid down will be handy for taking it to pot-lucks. Even though I already own another slow cooker, I have now have one I can use as a backup. I like these colorful models, but I got the white version because it was a little cheaper.

I've been using a 5 qt. slow cooker for the past month and have been hooked on preparing meals this way using recipes from Beth Hensperger's book, Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook (NYM Series). The problem I encountered was that I was making way too much food for just the two of us. Then I discovered another book by Beth Hensperger, Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Two. She says a 1.5 quart slow cooker is the answer to the needs of a small household. She's right. I found this cooker by searching Amazon, got it, and used it with great success. Its low setting cooks around 185 degrees, its high setting brings the food to a very slow bubble, and it does the job superbly in a 1.5 quart crock. I made a merlot beef ragout today that not only fed my wife and me a delicious meal, it also left enough over for two more portions. Clean up was easy, even with a little juice getting between the crock pot and the heating element, scorching the aluminum. The burned-on juice cleaned up with a little rubbing. This cooker is a great value for the money. I highly recommend it.

Most importantly, this cooker cooks at a good temperature. Recent slow cookers cook at much too high a temperature, giving you boiled food which you could cook on the stove. This little pot, 6 cups and perfect for 1, 2 or 3 people -- the actual average size of an American family -- cooks much more slowly than others. I can make a full meal for the two of us easily. It has a small footprint and takes little room in the cabinet or on the counter. It's inexpensive and is available in a range of colors, not just bilious green. It also has the benefit of being able to be carried with you because of the elastic band that comes with it. I strongly recommend this to small families which want an inexpensive and quite useable product.

This little slow-cooker, which I think of as a "crock-pot", is perfect for me - a single person. I can fix effortless meals that don't last forever because there was too much as is the case if I use my larger one. I use it about 3 times a week when I am too busy to cook, just adding a green salad for an excellent, balanced meal.

Have used the little cooker 3 or 4 times since buying. Bought it to mostly for cheese dips that we eat at home or take to parties. The 3 temperature settings are great. The lowest setting keeps the dip warm without burning (our old crock burned the dips every time). We really love the rubber band thingy that keeps the lid on during travel! It really secures the lid down well!
We also love the removable crock that we can simply throw in the dishwasher!
Ours does not have the little light that reminds you it is on, so Amazon should update the picture. But this is really no big deal for us. We love this cute little cooker!

This is the perfect little cooker for my steel-cut oatmeal in the morning. Just put them on the night before and VOILA! Hot breakfast for these cold mornings. Having High, Low and Warm settings is a plus. I'm hoping to buy a larger one if I can locate the correct size. I'm very impressed with the quality of this slow cooker. And I love the lime color. Highly recommend.

I LOVE this little cooker! I've been using it daily since it arrived and I've even taken it for a car ride (that handy elasticized keeper is unbelievably handy if it tilts). I can't say enough great things about it, including that it holds more than you'd think and that the oval shape on this size cooker is a HUGE advantage. And in today's world of crappy quality and ill-conceived design, it's surprisingly excellent on both counts.

First, info I couldn't find online anywhere (and if you have a camper or boat, this is particularly a good unit for you)...

INTERIOR DIMENSIONS:
Measured at the (oval) crock's floor, it's 6" long at longest point x 4.5" wide at widest point x 3.25" tall from floor to inside of rim (max useable cooking height).

EXTERIOR (FOOTPRINT):
At the widest/longest points, approx. 8.25" long x 7" wide x 7" tall. This does not include handles or slightly domed lid.
***FOR THOSE WITH A BOAT OR CAMPER***
This shape fits into smaller, tighter spaces AND (mwaaa-hahaha) that little elasticized lid securing device which is included for travel? It would be great for your kind of storage options because stuff gets wedged in and this is a glass lid and it isn't even possible to slide or get bumped off with that elastic thing in place.)

OTHERWISE:
- No power light (few this size have them) which is the ONLY thing I can criticize.
- Knob dial feels solid and seats well onto the settings (warm, low and high) without floppy play, and not tinny feeling.
- Cord is substantial in heft (does not scare you in other words) but short (24" from unit to prongs).
- Plastic molded feet can slide on counter but most can and they're not particularly slippery. You COULD add self-stick rubber feet, small ones.
