Best single cup coffee maker, January 18, 2006
This review is from: Proctor-Silex 42114 Single Serve Pod Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
If you are used to the standard coffee maker you won't like this, but if you make 6-10 cups of coffee and throw half away at the end of the day this is your machine.
It is as simple as a pencil sharpener and easier to clean. Pop an iPod, no that's a mp3 player, I mean a Pod (a pre-packaged paper packet sorta like a teabag without the string) of coffee in the top, put a cup of water in it, put YOUR cup under the coffee spout and in about 30-45 seconds you'll have a very fresh, hot cup of delicious coffee. If you're a 2-cup man or woman, repeat when your ready. The second cup will taste exactly like the first, unlike a bigger machine that lets the second cup sit around and get bitter.
A big plus is it is really cheap!

Not bad for the low price, October 9, 2006
This review is from: Proctor-Silex 42114 Single Serve Pod Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
I really wanted one of the more sophisticated and expensive single cup brewers but his little number caught my eye and the price, paid $20, was very attractive. You get what you pay for and this Proctor-Silex single serve unit does o.k. Some of the 'pods' I have tried are not strong enought for my caffine habit. Folgers dark roast works best so far, Senso pods are not very tastey. I also learned not to exceed six ounces of water with a pod. With the little brew basket you can load in a couple tablespoons and make a bigger, more powerful cup of joe. Works pretty well, about five minutes for a fresh cup. It tends to spit and drip a bit, so keep a paper towel near. For now (two weeks of use) it is satisfactory. Not sure how long it will hold up, looks sort of fragile. Try one, you don't have too much to loose. Nice looking unit but black does not match the rest of kitchen gear.

great coffee maker, February 18, 2006
This review is from: Proctor-Silex 42114 Single Serve Pod Coffeemaker (Kitchen)
This is a great little coffee maker. I was extremely impressed with this item. It works great and is a great value. I keep it in my office and I love it. It is easy to use, easy to clean and works like a machine that costs twice the price. I like the options of using either the pods or regular coffee grounds. I haven't had any problems with this product.
