There's no balloon whisk attachment for getting lots of air into egg whites but I've still managed to make decent souffles with it, and I would never even attempt a heavy dough with this. For the stuff I do use it for though (souffles, custards, creme brulee, and so on), it's not especially fast, not especially powerful, but it does the job well enough (and everything else I can do in my food processor anyway).
Everyone should be realistic. Even $50 to $90 mixers on here have less than stellar reviews. This is for someone on a limited budget or who uses only very occasionally. Anyone who rates it poorly on performance for things like cookie dough or mashed potatoes is totally unrealistic in their expectations of what $15 can buy you nowadays.
when making choc. chip cookies, this shoots the chips all over. my dogs love standing under me when i get this out. they know im gonna shoot food around.
but since i dont have to exhaust myself stirring, i do like it. i learned to be careful when mixing...as much as possible. still, food is gonna fly so be ready.
duck and cover!

Recommended for the price...but I have had to get creative with it splashing everywhere. Great is the blades/whisks can be submerged more than halfway with whatever you are mixing...anything less than that and you might be wearing what you are making.
I had an old full sized hand mixer and the motor finally burned out. It had the full sized beaters. While I needed to replace it, budget was a big issue for me since I use it rarely, mostly boxed cake mixes for birthdays. For me, this was perfect!
I was happy that it was tiny because I do not have a lot of storage space. However, the beaters really are very tiny. It works perfectly for cake mixes which is really all I need.
I cannot speak to how it would be for very frequent uses and/or larger jobs, but would imagine that it might be a disappointment in that case.
Again, for my purpose, it is absolutely perfect!

It does what I needed it to do. Sad thing was my daughter came home with one that coast 6 dollars more. Oh well, now she has a back up.Published 28 days ago by Elizabeth C. Hardeman
The hand mixer I had before this one lasted me like 10 years. This one lasted me less than a year- bummer. It worked fine but I always heard a little rattle to it. Read morePublished 1 month ago by sarah holloway

For the price, it does the trick. It's pretty wimpy as far as power, so it takes longer than usual to make something simple like whipped cream, but it has not deteriorated in the... Read morePublished 1 month ago by M.
