Short On Words, Long On Great Story-telling,
This review is from: Prodigal (Kindle Edition)
This reunion story is not what it seems. The author does a wonderful job of revealing the past in increments and my curiosity about Daniel and Lane's history grew with each compulsive turn of the page leading to the satisfying, surprise ending. Highly recommended!

Prodigal is a story of two people who have lost one another, and their struggle to reclaim was once theirs. Redemption waits at the end, but I don't want to say too much because this story has a lovely surprise that will thrill readers! If you are looking for a fast read that you will have trouble putting down, Prodigal is for you!

Heartwarming. Comfortable. Robin Bayne creates a safe, enjoyable haven that feels like home. It's a great place to spend some time reading about the return of another prodigal son and God's plans for all of us. Take the time to enjoy this lovely story.

This is a sweet, short story about the renewal of a relationship. Robin has an eye for detail and her characters are strong. My favorite was Daniel. A surprising ending will leave you wishing for more.

Short and Sweet,

Robin Bayne's Prodigal is a fresh take on an old story. Daniel Gardner returns to his family after leaving unexpectedly and not contacting his family for several years. What if the prodigal son didn't leave home so he could party and squander his inheritance? What if he had a really good reason for abandoning his family and their business for several years? What would that reason be? I'll give you a hint. It may have something to do with Lane Taylor, who has also returned to their hometown after a long absence. It seems that the prodigal son is not the only one in need of forgiveness. This is a sweet, heartwarming romance that fans of "home and family" stories will enjoy.

Short, Sweet and Satisfying!!!,

I wasn't sure what to expect when I opened Prodigal, but I was drawn into the story immediately! Daniel, the prodigal son, disappeared over seven years ago and reappears suddenly at his brother's wedding. Across the room, he spies Lane. Although Daniel feels he has to prove himself to his family and earn the respect he's always wanted from his brother, it is Lane who he most needs to settle with.
This story is packed full of conflict, forgiveness, and a surprise I didn't see coming. I loved the characters so much that I hope there is a sequel in the future. Carol Ann Erhardt Joshua's Hope

Coming home to love?,

This review is from: Prodigal (Kindle Edition)
Lane has returned to her hometown at the request of a friend, despite having run away years earlier. Broken-hearted, she is glad her husband no longer lives in town. But when she arrives, she finds Daniel is there, having been asked to return by the same friend who persuaded Lane to come home. Two lost people who cut off all family ties, are now confronted with forgiving family, forgiving friends and a wedding. But can they forgive themselves and each other? With faith in God and a confession, both souls are swept up in love that lasts forever.

A story that kept me on my toes,

This may be a short story, but it's packed with INTRIGUE--why did Daniel leave seven years ago so suddenly? CONFLICT--can Lane and Daniel work through a difficult past to a love that awaits them? And MOTIVATION--the heart is a force to be reckoned with.
All these components and more can be found in this great little story where Ms. Bayne weaves a tale of forgiveness and second chances.

As an author, sometimes it is difficult to create enough tension and conflict, goal & motivation as well as well-defined characters in a short story.
Ms. Bayne had no problem in any of these areas. Prodigal is a cute, sweet story of love, forgiveness and a second chance. Pamela S Thibodeaux Author of Tempered Hearts (Tempered Series) |
