Best Of Bukem,
By Michael Arango (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews

I am a big fan of Bukem, but was disappointed to hear the same tracks on many of his CDs. If you have many of his previous releases bypass this disc. If you are new to Bukem this will be a worthwhile buy. I recommend Logical Progression sessions for his better stuff.

Good, but mostly old stuff,

Bukem is my favourite artist. I own all of his albums. Like all of Bukem's stuff, this is a great CD. But if you are looking for new stuff, this isn't the product to buy: all of the tracks are on previously released albums.

I heard it in A virgin Megastore and so I asked what the C.D. was. They said it was this. I looked at it and I thought I would buy it. It adds funk to a party, adds chill after school and is just pure heaven.

This is a MUST HAVE CD,

When I think Drum and Bass, I think of LTJ Bukem. His Good Looking label is amazing. His drum and bass is a lot more low key with low rolling bass lines and jazzy, ambient samples. Very cool to chill out to. If you like this, check out Earth volume 2 and 3, or any of his Logical Progression compilations.

Yeah. This is what I ordered but I received the album Earth. Which is really good. But can I have what I ordered sometime?

Bukem explores multiple genres in this album crossing the boundaries of traditional drum and bass into another dimension. More on the ambient side for those people seeking "the hard core Bukem experience". An excellent at home D&B experience - a must have in the Bukem collection.

LTJ is the glue that holds all music genres together...,

"Earth, Vol. 1" (& Vol. 2, for that matter) is an amazing journey through all that was, is, and will be in the world of jungle music/drum & bass. I feel at a loss just trying to categorize LTJ Bukem's artistry... If you like jazz, "Earth" will appeal to you. Rap? Ambient/Dub? Rhythmic dance? LTJ's "Earth" volumes touch it all, graced with a masterful sense of style and an innate knowledge of how modern music can touch the soul and make you move. ANY LTJ Bukem recording is a must for your music collection!

-=Low Key=-,
By Sean (Dublin) - See all my reviews

Personally, I found it meandering, dated and repetitive. And yes, I do like most types of drum & bass, but I found the newer tracks on this album more or less as evolved as ancient tracks like "Music" (also featured here.)Maybe try one of his 'Earth' series compilations instead.

its really trippy but it has a really strong bass so when you play it....you feel like you're chillin' on the nyc club scene.. i am a fan of techno more than drum and bass.... but THIS!!! this is the blend of the two that we've all been waiting for...its trancy but not repetitive... it's really good and hard as hell to find....i definately recommend it
