5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Scarface is back ya'll!, March 21, 2006
This review is from: The Product-One Hunid (Audio CD)

"The Product One hunid" is a born classic. I dont even know why anyone would dare to wonder if an album produced by scarface would be a classic or not. I will admit i had my doubts at first due to the fact that i have never heard any tracks on this album before but how can u go wrong wit Face. 13 cuts of pure unadulterated street hip hop...not for the weak at heart. Faces hooks are definitely in a league of there own with his own destinct voice layin the tracks down like a marathon. If u dont know , now u know. Cop this album. It aint too many real hip hop artist around anymore yall...you better take advantage. this is real hip hop right hear. They aint talkin about big money and ho's shakin they asses in the club....that aint what hip hop is all about..it aint about all that stuff u see on tv or read in the magazines.....its about your everyday life...how u live and what u live for...and what u gotta do to make it. Yall youngsters need to pay attention mann....look listen and learn before ya ass gets burned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Camilyan Report, March 22, 2006
By
Camilyan (Denver, Co United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Product-One Hunid (Audio CD)
One Hunnid is the creation of Scarface and The Product. They teamed up to produce a thirteen track donation to the art of Hip Hop. Dark rhymes are the meat that'll feed you if you've been starving for a true reality of the streets. And with Scarface, the King of the South, always expect fresh tight beats that'll keep you bobbin' as you savor the bitterness of the truth.

"Get Out" starts the CD with a hot beat from Tone Capone and lyrics that are just as nice. The second track, "2 Real", out does the first and truly sets the tone of the album. "In The Hood", serves as a reality check of any mainstream Hip Pop song, depicting the true essence of the street games. "Read" stayed on repeat; I don't think I need to elaborate. Willie Hen and Young Malice of The Product get props for holding down "Hustle", and providing a strong beat and sharp lyrics without Scarface. That's just the first 5 tracks, the entire CD is hot. Scarface closes out the CD magnificently, giving thanks on the soulful track "Life's Been Good".

Overall, all the 13 tracks are what can be called quality Hip Hop. It seems as if each track was selected as a probable single, and the entire album was organized with the intent of it being a collectable. The total album is a good investment for your music collection if you're a fan of Hip Hop and all its forms.

4.0 out of 5 stars Any CD with Scarface on it is worth atleast 3 stars, February 28, 2006
By
J. Highsmith (Mitchellville, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Product-One Hunid (Audio CD)
I was on amazon checking to see when "My Homies 2" was going to be released because some friends of mine told me that the CD was going to be released soon. As I was searching for that CD, I found a CD entitled Scarface Presents The Product "One Hunnid". Of course, I had no idea what this was but anytime I see a CD that Scarface is going to be on, I always make sure that I pick it up. The last CD that Scarface had released was 2003's "Balls & My Word". The CD didn't match his previous release "The Fix" but there were still tracks on there to like such as "Recognize", "On My Grind", "Make Your Peace", "Stuck At A Standstill", the hilarious "Only Your Mother" w/Devin The Dude & Tela, and B_____ N_____ featuring Z-Ro, Dirt Bomb & Bun B.

The Product consists of The Real King Of The South Scarface, Willie Hen, who is from the Bay Area and Young Malice who is from Jacksonville, Mississippi.

The 1st single from "One Hunid" ends up being one of the best tracks on the CD, "I'm A". On this track Scarface demonstrates why he is The Real King Of The South. Anytime you hear a song and you know that Face is on the track you know you are going to get real rhymes about the street and you know that he isn't going to disappoint. Willie Hen and Young Malice do the best they can in order to match Scarface's energy on this track and on this song it works. "Get Out" gets the CD off to a nice start as Tone Capone, who has production credits on my favorite Scarface CD of all time, "The Untouchable", slows things down on the track. The other members of The Product get the microphone ready for Face on the 1st two verses and Scarface takes the track home on the last verse. Tone Capone also shows up to produce the CD's next track "2 Real". Young Malice and Willie Hen do their best to match up to Face but as in most of the tracks you find yourself waiting for the Scarface verse, just as reviewer Constant previously stated. "In The Hood" is the 1st track on the CD where Scarface doesn't rap on. The production on the track is stellar and Young Malice and Willie Hen give decent performances but you will find yourself wondering how would Scarface sound on this track. Scarface and the infamous John Bido show up to produce "Read" which ends up being one of the best beats on the CD. As I previously stated, Scarface once again has the best verse and the other members of The Product, who still have decent verses, are trying to match Scarface's verse. On "Hustle" eventhough Scarface doesn't bless us with a verse he stil takes time to call out the corny rappers who waste other people's money and studio time on tired verses. Tone Capone shows up again to produce another nice track and the chorus doesn't disappoint either. On "G Type" I was caught totally by surprise because I never thought I would hear Scarface rap over an Alchemist track. Alchemist is a producer who usually works with Mobb Deep and is now Eminem's DJ since DJ Green Lantern was caught doing to ultimate no-no in rap where he was recorded having a conversation with what would be called the enemy camp in Jadakiss. Alchemist provides The Product with a nice laid back track and Scarface, Willie Hen & Young Malice take care of the rest as they lay the "G Type" rhymes. Scarface produces "Got A Word" and sounds like something that Scarface may have done on one of his earlier CDs like "Mr. Scarface Is Back" or "The World Is Yours". The best track that Scarface doesn't rap on is clearly "Dead Broke". John Bido proves why he has production credits dating all the way back to the "Mr. Scarface Is Back" CD. Young Malice and Willie Hen provide tight verses and Scarface handles the hook. "Don't Matter" ends up being the one song that any Scarface or Geto Boys CD is going to have talking about the women. As always Scarface uses the word woman very loosely. "Life's Been Good" closes out "One Hunnid" nicely as The Product is able to combine together to make a track where they can reflect to events of the past just like Scarface did on "My Block" from his CD entitled "The Fix".

Overall, if you listen to all 13 tracks on The Product's CD, you will not find any filler material. You will find some tracks that are better than others but you won't find any tracks that you would want to immediately fast forward. Scarface raps on 9 of the 13 tracks and that right there is worth the price of this CD. Willie Hen and Young Malice give credible perofrmances but you can tell that they need some more seasoning. If they continue to work with Scarface then they will definitely benefit from that experience.

If you are a fan of Scarface CDs and CDs from The Geto Boys you should invest in The Product's CD eventhough it is on Koch Records. Some CDs can be suspect when you buy them from indepedent labels but trust me this is one CD worth checking out. Scarface's CD entitled "My Homies 2" is scheduled to be released on March 7, 2006.
