Christopher Tang is UCLA university distinguished professor. He joined UCLA since 1985, served as Senior Associate Dean at the UCLA Anderson School from 1998 to 2002; Dean of the Business School at the National University of Singapore from 2002 to 2004, and Senior Advisor to the President of National University of Singaprore from 2000 to 2002.
His research spans across different areas including: global supply chain management, retail operations, and social business operations. He has co-edited 4 books, co-written 1 book, and published over 90 academic articles in research journals and management articles in Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. He served on editorial boards for over 15 international journals and research boards for startup companies.
He has advised clients at companies such as Accenture, Amgen, Andersen Consulting, Bay Networks, Emerson Electric (Hong Kong), Federal Reserve Bank, GKN (United Kingdom), Hewlett Packard Company (world-wide locations), Honda America, Hughes Aircraft Company, Nestle; USA, IBM (world-wide locations), ICL International, Intertek Testing Services (England), Information Technology Institute (Singapore), Johnson and Johnson, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Kurokabe (Japan), Northrop-Grumman, and Orient Overseas Container Limited.
Professor Tang has taught a variety of Supply Chain Management and Retail Operations related courses in the MBA / Fully Emplyed MBA / Executive MBA / PhD programs at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, National University of Singapore, Stanford University, UCLA and elsewhere. Also, he has taught various executive programs in Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Spain.
