Not bad I used it to put baby carrots, sweet peas, celery, cubed cheese and cubed ham in it.. for most part did keep them cold, I did end up adding cold water to the ice to get the cold up around the containers better... I think crushed ice would work better but I can only bagged ice in cubes LOL
they could really improve this in a few ways: 1. if the containers were stainless steel they would get cold and then keep the food colder 2. by having lids to put on the containers so if you have some extra's you can just snap the lid on the it and put it in the fridge other then that not too bad ..

I read all of the reviews prior to purchasing this product. Now that I've used the product and reread the reviews, Only one review acknowledges that unless you are using crushed ice, the containers are not surrounded by ice once the bin is full. In fact, when using commercial ice cubes, if you put in too much ice, the containers don't rest in the holder properly and the lid won't close. If you don't put in enough ice, it defeats the purpose of keeping food in the containers on the ice. It's a fine balance, that is quickly ruined once the ice starts to melt. Then for sure your containers won't be chilled in the ice. That lone review said to add water to the ice...GREAT idea, one that I will do next time.
The containers don't have enough of a cone shape to be in the ice. Using finely crushed ice could help, but there still is not that much room for it. When transporting the filled unit, I managed to tilt it slightly, spilling salsa all over my shirt. Obviously that is my fault, but if each compartment came with a lid, that could have been prevented. All that said, I love the clean look of the product. I sell dips at event/craft fairs, and I do feel this product gives a professional look. I just need to make sure that my dips stay cold for food safety purposes. It's the reason I bought the product, and admittedly am wondering how the other reviewers missed the fact that what kind of ice is used can make or break the purpose of the product. I should mention, that if you use only 4 of the containers, it is possible to surround all of the containers completely with any type of ice, be able to close the lid, and be very food safe. But when all 5 containers are used, there is no room for ice between the containers.

This is an excellent product to use when entertaining. All your condiments remain fresh and cold for several hours. It's really handy to fill the separate, removable sections and refrigerate until ready for use. I highly recommend this quality item! The first time I used mine it got great reviews from guests.

Very deep containers, my half moon shaped ice cubes fit under the containers very well, kept dip and veggies nice and cold at a BBQ.
The lid is great to keep flies off. Fantastic product.

Attractive and Functional,

Love it that the unit is clear - so you can see when ice is needed. The top stays open when needed and keeps pests out when closed. The individual units lift out so that left-over amounts can easily be stowed in the fridge for another day. I envision using it not just for condiments - but also for chili toppings and make-your-own-pizza fixings!

I love this condiment container. I put veggies and fruit in the small removable trays, fill the lower chamber with ice and set it on the counter for hours. The kids love the ease of grabbing a quick snack. My son who has always been a veggie avoider tried everything I put in. Sugar snap peas were a big hit with the neighbor kids who ate them like candy. The little plastic containers are easy to remove and clean. I even put them in the dishwasher and they seem OK. The container is sturdy and looks nice. There are five trays and I usually use one for a ranch dip when I'm serving veggies. The individual trays are large and hold a fairly good amount of food. When I cut up two large carrots into fingerlong sticks it only fills the chamber halfway. The lid is great for keeping out flies or dust. Well worth the money.

The Condiments on Ice is nice and compact, sturdy, and keeps your food cold. Very easy to travel with, the lid fits tight, and the compartments stay put. I recommend this product for office get togethers and picnics.

I got this as a way to avoid the afterschool rush for chips and cookies. I find that it helps the adults, too, to have an easy healthy snack sitting on the counter. We arrive and put ice in it and dump in baby carrots, grape tomatoes and some fruit like grapes (I always seem to have these on hand). Then I will chop something like cucumbers, zucchini, broccoli or whatever I have in the bin with the intention of using these later for dinner, soup or in a salad -- so the effort isn't wasted. The leftovers that are reusable go back in the fridge or in baggies for the kid's lunchbox.
Oh, and it's a great for parties. I've used it to keep shrimp cold in two of the bins, use one for cocktail sauce and the other two for olives and lime slices for drinks.
