This causes the lid to seal up.

I hate this thing. I'm sad and disappointed with it. I've been wanting a honey pot for my honey for a long time, and now I'm going to have to put up with this since I bought it. Anyhow, it's not designed well because if even a tiny bit of honey gets on the sides the lid will catch it, and spread it, because it has a rim on the inside. This causes the lid to seal up. Then it's really hard to get the lid off. So I have to get a knife to open it and clean the lid often. Then the honey dipper is not easy to grip and short, and just for some reason not comfortable to use. I miss my wooden honey dipper. It also is not air tight, so my honey starts crystallizing fast. I would advise not to buy this.

This is much sturdier than I expected it to be. I dropped it right out of the box.. no problem. I love that it self seals, so you don't have to worry about an open jar of honey. I really like how heavy duty it is, and how cute it is. It is a great deal for what you get out of it. This is the kind of useful do-dad you keep for 20 years.

Nice looking but honey really should be stored in glass. When it crystallizes - and it will - glass can be easily heated to bring it back. Not sure heating acrylic is such a good thing. Also - doesn't create a solid seal. Moving on to something else.

The hole in the top is where the dripper goes to previous reviewer. It's pretty obvious. The not so good thing is the seal isn't the greatest if you tip it over. I think it's a great bargain for winter time honey use!

A different way to use this jar is to keep it on the side of the tub full of bubble bath for drizzling under running water. It is much more attractive than a bottle and safe for the bathroom since it is plastic.

It is a cute little kitchen item but it is also not so practical. We use it for honey but it gets a bit messy from the applicator.

I was hoping for a jar to store honey in along with the server so I didn't feel the urge to lick the server clean every time I use my $9 jar of honey. This product has an oddly large lid that allows honey to only fill between 1/2 and 3/4 of the way. Oh! and the lid has a hole in it. For the server? Sure! Oh, wait... that doesn't fit no matter which way one tries to make the puzzling item make sense. In addition, the lid just fits into the bottom piece. It doesn't seal. I poored my honey back into the jar it came in, licked it clean, (washed it, of course... it is at least top rack dishwasher safe), and returned the item.

Oye. Even as I write this, I'm confused about what the makers of this product truly intended it for.
