If you are looking for an ASP book that discusses advanced databases techniques,COM objects, and client server in detail,BUY IT! If you need a through understanding of coding techniques, perhaps a book such as "Using ASP..." may be a better resource.

Great for those who Understand the basics of ASP already,

This book is not for beginners. Get Beginners Active Server pages if you are new to this area. This book goes into some ASP examples for professionals but also touches on areas such as Transactions, Interdev and has some great case studies. Maybe not your first book but one definitely to come back to once you have started.

This was the first book from Wrox and Alex Homer I bought and with this flood of crap books around it's nice to get something like a quality mark. If you see the name Alex Homer on a book cover you can be sure to get value for the money.

Not bad, but index is poor,

A good first read on ASP, this book explains the basic object model and structure very well.Sadly, the index is noticably thin, which diminishes the work's very as reference material. On several occasions I simple couldn't find information that I knew I'd read before. This reviewer hasn't read many other books on ASP, but is convinced there's something better out there.

I bought this book with the hope of using it as a reference only, for my latest ASP project. I was surprised by the ease of use, and thorough explanation with useful examples, found throughout the book. It became an excellent teaching tool for me. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that beginning ASP for the first time and don't want to be scratching their heads with programming jargon.

I bought this book to get a good background in ASP before using Microsoft's Visual InterDev. This book is excellent, it has provided me with enough information to do whatever I want to with server side ASP script (with or without InterDev) It especially has excellent coverage of ADO (Active Dato Object) for database connections. and useful tips on server side security.

A real good introduction to what ASP is all about. It gives a broad overview about ADO and uses a lot of Vbscript. Completely avoids on JScript. Also the samples that you can download needs a lot more explanation...Good book to buy!

Undoubtedly the best ASP book on the market.,

I purchased this book knowing only a little about object-oriented programming and VBScript but hoping to become proficient in ASP in a very short time. This book was the perfect answer - clear explanations, good examples, solid code -- and all at the right pace. I read the first four chapters and was writing efficient interactive web pages for database access the next day. I highly recommend this reference.
