This sleek looking tripod is surprisingly good quality, and in case anyone wants to know, it's made by Polaroid (remember them?)

Unlike another buyer's comment, mine arrived brand new (shrink wrapped) and the carrying case it comes with is handy and durable.

I would rank even higher, but the box came with no instructions. Fortunately, I'm pretty handy when it comes to figuring this kind of stuff out, but still--could it have hurt Polaroid to include simple and time-saving instructions? Thank goodness for a sequence of pictures on the outside of the box listing features. That was its saving grace and how I figured things out for the most part.

I'm one of these anal retentive types and like everything spelled out for me in black & white.

But go ahead and purchase it anyway--you'll easily figure out how this handy tripod works and have it set up within 5-7 minutes.

Even positioned at its tallest height, it stays in place perfectly. It is useful having a tripod which can reach 72-inches (I used that feature from the get-go, now that I finally have a tripod which can go that high!), yet is compact when folded and placed in the case. Don't be frightened by the shipping box it arrives in--it's huge.

Once you open the box, you'll smile when you see how small the actual product box is--I recommend you purchase this tripod without hesitation. I was a little nervous when purchasing it, but now that I see its quality firsthand and ease of use, I'm completely sold ;)

If there is any negative about the tripod itself, I wish it were slightly heavier. Although it stays sturdy when in place with camera attached, a couple times while moving around I bumped into it, and tripod was a bit shaky. So here's a little tip: try not to be clumsy while shooting or setting up your scene, as I was...lol.

Very sturdy, professional looking, lightweights, great price, only one complaint really. There is no easy way to set all 3 legs at the same height so the tripod is level. You have to eyeball it which is a pain in the neck. I've seen other tripods with markings on the sliding legs or grooves that notch into place to make it easy to level the tripod at preset heights for quick setups. Not here. So 4 stars when it could have been 5 to illustrate a great value.
