Smooth, quiet, substanial motor, and with a thick, flexible cord. I was hesitant to go with the ceramic blade but it works quite well, does stay cool, and can be replaced with an all metal blade, if required. I haven't used any other "professional" style clippers but this deserved five stars because it is many times better than other trimmers I've had for the same price. Very good for the price!

If anyone has used detachable blade clippers you know they are great but require some maintaining. These Andis don't require the normal carbon brush changing or opening the dang thing up to add grease. I bought some other detachable blade clippers on Amazon made by Forfex that require the same maintainence as the Oster 76's. I wish I had saw these first and at this price I had to get it. This unit is light weight and Andis makes a wide selection of blades for it.

Been using this clipper for more than a year. Bought a different size blade and been cutting my own hair like a pro. This clipper is professional grade and has never given me any problems. Feels sturdy and even fell a couple of time with no damage done. If you are serious abut cutting your own hair or your families this is a must have.
