4.0 out of 5 stars Simple works
Bill's book perfectly illustrates the type of quality glamour images that can be accomplished without the use of expensive studio lighting and equipment. The models chosen for his examples are fresh, natural, and don't rely on post processing techniques to show off their beauty. The posing techniques are simple, yet designed to show off the attributes of the model...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but could be better.
I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I picked up this booked but I did expect a little more than what I got. The content was ok and the images superb but the whole book felt like he was critiquing his own images and giving tips on whats good and whats not. I constantly had to read the title of the tip to recall what that critique was about and what I can learn from...

The content was ok and the images superb but the whole book felt like he was critiquing his own images and giving tips on whats good and whats not. I constantly had to read the title of the tip to recall what that critique was about and what I can learn from it. I'm giving it 3 stars because it has great example and tips but it would have been four had the retail price not been so high because I don't feel that the content was enough for the price.

The models chosen for his examples are fresh, natural, and don't rely on post processing techniques to show off their beauty. Many of the images reflect how a model, in tune with her body, can generate wonderful poses without extensive direction.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is rather a photo book, not book about taking photos., March 6, 2007

This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
A said before, book consist of basically "well, i was there and i asked {ModelName} to do this, and she selected this pose, which makes this nice image" paragraphs...

So this book is collection of images with few not to detailed sentences about every shot.

I certainly expected more from this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars No Real Value, October 23, 2008
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
Take a look at the "Search Inside" feature before you buy this book! The author simply tells you useless tidbits about the photos that he presents and honestly, the photos are far from being even mediocre.

Inspires me to write a book knowing that this can get published.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, March 2, 2008
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
This book is disappointing compared to many of the glamour books for digital photographers that are now available. Author Bill Lemon offers little that is new and rehashes much of the same info that is already out there. Save your money on this purchase and look around a little more before you buy. You can do much better for your money.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good start but becomes repetitive., February 12, 2007
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
The book isn't very good at really explaining how the shot was created. So if you want to learn about how or why a certain setting was used in detail, this isn't the book for you. If you want to get some good ideas of tasteful nude/portrait photos, this could be the ticket. Some of the narratives of the motivation behind the shot is helpful. However by the end of the book, you may end up disappointed that you read the whole thing. About half way through the book just skim the verbiage and enjoy the photos.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality photos, no real information, February 9, 2007
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
I brought this book a while back and was not happy with it, lucky for amazon I'm a lazy person when it comes to returning things, especially onine. The photos are poor, they look like someone used a compact camera to take the shot, and with no artistic or creative skill either.

There are maybe a few pictures which may be considered close to pro level but as a non pro myself I can already acheive better quality pictures. i expected more than this, there was no depth to the pictures on how they were designed or envisioned by the photographer, just a bunch of random pictures.

1.0 out of 5 stars spend your money elsewhere, November 11, 2006
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
I found the authors work very mediocre and in some cases not worthy of publication it's only redeeming quality are the attractive girls, this is not a book for photographers who would want to advance their skill level but rather weekend photographers who get kicks out of viewing naked woman.

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing the Techniques, October 15, 2008
This review is from: Professional Digital Techniques for Nude & Glamour Photography (Paperback)
This book should be named "Photos I took and why I like them" not Professional digital techniques for Nude and Glamour photography! The author forgot to include the Techniques... there is nothing technical about this book, almost no camera settings, or lighting setups. The author just talks about why he likes the photos. This is Not the book to buy if you're looking to learn anything about photography!
