5.0 out of 5 stars I hate to admit it - THIS IS A GREAT BOOK!
I have to admit that I did not want to like this book. I had decided to stop feeding my "you create your reality" addiction and was tired of "you create your reality" gurus. I was on the mailing list of a self-improvement author who was part of the joint venture marketing campaign for this book and I thought "Here we go again...". 3.0 out of 5 stars Ah, If Only....
On the one hand, I want to give the book 5 stars for being generally well-written and very inspirational. But on the other, I could argue that it deserves only 1 star because the techniques simply do not work--whether you believe in them or not.

The 6 steps are not quite as "simple" as the blurb suggests they are. To begin with, Step One has you purging...

I have to admit that I did not want to like this book. I had decided to stop feeding my "you create your reality" addiction and was tired of "you create your reality" gurus. I was on the mailing list of a self-improvement author who was part of the joint venture marketing campaign for this book and I thought "Here we go again...". I decided to wait until the price went down - but could not get the book out of my mind. I finally broke down and purchased it - fully expecting to return it if it turned out to be another rehash or book length sales letter. All I can say is - GET THIS BOOK! The author offers the same metaphysical principles as other authors in this genre, BUT she describes WHY and HOW these principles work and gives specific, simple methods. Her use of metaphors is unique and her examples make some time honored self-improvement methods crystal clear. One of my personal favorites is her metaphor on negative thought forms. She asks, "If you had bits of garbage laying around your house in little clumps, would you just leave them there?" If you have read it all - GET THIS BOOK. If you are new to manifesting - GET THIS BOOK.

5.0 out of 5 stars You don't have to believe it; you just have to work it., February 15, 2006
By
Blair Warren (San Antonio, TX USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Professional Dreamer: 6 Simple Steps That Turn Dreams Into Reality (Paperback)
Professional Dreamer is going to be a hit with those who are already open to the notion that we create our own realities. That's a given. But there's another group of people who stand to benefit greatly as well. I'm talking about skeptics. Yes, skeptics. I know, because I'm one of them.

Truth is, not too long ago I would have laughed at the ideas in this book. I'd have written them off as "New Age Nonsense" and felt smug and justified in doing so. In fact, I loved nothing more than to think of myself as one of the few "wise ones" who could see through the smoke that "fooled" almost everyone else. It turns out, I was the real fool. Rather than helping me in life, my skepticism slowly but surely cut me off from any sense of wonder and possibility. I became, frankly, an arrogant but miserable jerk.

But I was lucky. Despite my commitment to criticize all that failed to fit my own sense of reality, a thought eventually popped into my head that changed everything. The thought was this:

"If we can only accept what we currently believe, we have already reached our full potential."

This thought literally pulled my life out of the grips of skepticism and made it possible for me to entertain ideas I would have otherwise dismissed out of hand. Ideas that are full of promise, power and hope. Ideas that can make us greater than we are and more powerful than we might imagine ourselves to be. Ideas like those in Professional Dreamer.

Again, "believers" will embrace these ideas without hesitation; skeptics will need to be convinced. Ironically, skeptics may stand to benefit the most from this book - if they'll give it a fair shot. And that's my purpose here, to encourage them to do just that.

So if you're a skeptic and at all hesitant about this book, let me give you a few reasons why you might want to reconsider:

First, this book is all about taking full responsibility for your life. This is not a book about how to get others to change so that your life will improve. Professional Dreamer places the responsibility for your life right where it belongs: in *your* lap. I don't know a skeptic alive that would disagree with the notion that in order to improve your life, you must take responsibility for your life.

Second, as ironic as it may sound given its title, this book is surprisingly practical. Unlike books that paint beautiful pictures of "what might be" but fail to fill in the fine details like, how to actually make it happen, Professional Dreamer delivers the goods. Despite the depth of its ideas, virtually every page contains a step, or series of steps, explaining exactly how to put these ideas into practice.

And finally, and perhaps most importantly for skeptics, the ideas in Professional Dreamer don't require that you "believe them first" in order for them to work. They only require that you "work them" for them to work. So if you're like me and have trouble accepting ideas that don't automatically fit your sense of reality, relax. You don't have to accept them. Feel free to disbelieve all you want to, but if you'll just give these ideas a fair shot, I think you'll be amazed at what they can help you achieve.

Now, I started out by saying that I was a skeptic, and despite my enthusiasm for this book, I remain one. But thanks to ideas such as those in Professional Dreamer, I am a different kind of skeptic these days. I no longer have to believe every idea before I can implement and profit from it. I am willing to experiment, to take risks. And as a result, I've discovered that while skepticism can be healthy, too much skepticism can be deadly. Deadly to one's spirit, to one's sense of well-being and to one's dreams.

So if you're a skeptic-by-nature but are willing to stretch your sense of what's possible, I can't think of a better book to start with - or end with, for that matter - than Ghalil's Professional Dreamer.

Again, you believers out there are probably nodding your heads. But if you're more of a skeptic like me, just remember what I said earlier:

"If we can only accept what we currently believe, we have already reached our full potential."

And despite how far I've already come, I know I have much more that I hope to accomplish. How about you? Care to create the future? Your blueprint is here.

P.S. Ghalil, if you read this, I hope you're already working on your next book because I'm already waiting for it.

Note added March 10, 2007:

I wrote my review of Professional Dreamer over a year ago. And since then, for a variety of reasons, I have taken a very hard position against the movie The Secret and certain aspects of the Law of Attraction.

Though I have written extensively about my issues with these ideas elsewhere, I want to make it very clear here on Amazon that I still believe Ghalil's book is one of the best of the bunch.

While I would no doubt write a very different review today, I would - and do - still recommend her book for anyone with a sincere interest in, and an open mind about, these ideas.

I have read a lot of books that touch on these sames topics. Some are too spiritual (for me) and most are too vague. Professional Dreamer however, is perfectly written. It explains exactly what to do. And it works!! My life has taken a complete 180 degree turn. I have created a job I love and now I know that I can create anything that I want in my life!! Thank you Ghalil for writing this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfectly Celestial Book!, April 6, 2006
This review is from: Professional Dreamer: 6 Simple Steps That Turn Dreams Into Reality (Paperback)
First of all I want to thank Ghalil for writing "Professional Dreamer". For the past two years I have been attracting this kind of information into my life and living the principles of positive thought and visualization to the best of my knowledge. Professional Dreamer has added POWERFULLY to my practice. I now more fully understand all the principles, which has increased my faith immensely, in turn speeding the process of physical manifestation to a matter of minutes or hours in many cases. It's almost eerie, how quickly my desires are now manifested and I am absolutely delighted. I have found this book to be so valuable that I immediately purchased two additional books for some family members. It has been a joy to see how quickly the principles and steps in this book have changed their lives dramatically for the better. This book was truly the missing puzzle piece and more precious than gold. I thank Ghalil for blessing my life and the life of others with her divine knowledge and vision in the form of a perfectly celestial book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Professional Dreamer is Great for Beginners Too-, January 30, 2006
This review is from: Professional Dreamer: 6 Simple Steps That Turn Dreams Into Reality (Paperback)
You don't have to be a professional to benefit from this book. This book describes how the seeds of our thought contain instructions on how to attract and organize matter.

The six steps in Professional Dreamer not only help you manifest, but they first help you decide what you truly want. You have to know what you want, before you can create it.

After I came up with my "trueprint" I kept repeating it over and over and I felt my vibrational energy increasing! I made contact with the truth inside me in a powerful way.

I was also amazed that all my fears could be summed up under two major categories, which Ghalil calls "jailers". Awareness brings power, and this book will give you both! Read this book today for a mind expanding, life changing experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars INSPIRATIONAL AND LIFE CHANGING!, February 12, 2006

This review is from: Professional Dreamer: 6 Simple Steps That Turn Dreams Into Reality (Paperback)
Ghalil's book, Professional Dreamer, is quite frankly, ASTONISHING! The book delivers on its promises of teaching one how to manifest dreams, desires, and 'if only's'......

I needed discipline to work my way through the first step, and after that, the understanding and wisdom poured forth through Ghalil's words. I learned how to 'harness' my thoughts, so my mind could stay open to only positive input. Once I completed my Trueprint and Trinity, my world changed rapidly. I now had the tools to guide me on a daily basis through a myriad of professional and personal 'bumps'......it was truly surprising to view others reactions to me, that I was guiding through my Trueprint. What a gift! Ghalil's book is one that clearly reflects the author's gentle, respectful, and powerful belief and knowledge that we can truly change our lives toward more positive outcomes. It is my gift of choice for others...a lifetime gift for me!

This review is from: Professional Dreamer: 6 Simple Steps That Turn Dreams Into Reality (Paperback)
Ghalil's work is unbelievable. If you could only read one book
this coming year, THIS IS THE BOOK! I'm enjoying the book tremendously! LOVE the way Ghalil explains the LAW of ATTRACTION and the LAW of Vibration. This is the BEST I've ever seen it explained. It is also explained in a way that the new person can wrap their minds around this profound concept and PUT IT immediately to work to ACHIEVE any goal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just do, October 26, 2006

I've always thought that most people rave on and on in reviews, because they are hyped up or they want to believe something works so badly they jump up and down over the smallest positive result. For me, I'll try anything once, but if it doesn't deliver consistent results, forget it.

This book delivers.

I want to choose my words carefully here, because I want everyone to "do" this book. Try just one step. I swear I've heard everything and in 30 years nothing has sparked me. This book is different. Somehow, it just gets you to do. You do and things start happening. Let me share results, because that's what has always motivated this skeptic to try or investigate something. I watched a friend turn their life around, so I asked what they were doing and they gave me the book. (I laughed, now I'm the one buying books for others!)

Here's what I experienced: I'm in the best relationship of my life with a woman who wouldn't give me the time of day before. Every day someone comments on how good I look. I'm had the best 3 months I've ever had at work.

My results have been surprising, but the best results, and I'm not alone in this, are the ones inside and the fact that they keep happening. My intuition is incredible. I spend two minutes with a potential client and I just know what's important to them. I always seem to know where to go and when. Decisions are easy. I just know the best direction to take.

If you're still skeptical and I'm just "lucky" I say this: do something nice for someone today. Buy the book as a gift for a friend. It's definitely beautiful, clear and well-written. But before you give it to your friend, flip to a page at random and start reading. See what happens! At the very least, you'll learn something new. I don't care if you've been studying all this for years. You'll learn, no wait, you'll experience something.

This is a fantastic book! I just can't say enough about what a great read this is! Ghalil seemed to answer every question that you might ever think to ask and has not only an answer, but a technique and detailed approach to implement it.
I am a huge fan of books like "think and grow rich" and movies like "the secret" and "what the bleep do we know" but I think this book takes the cake. It really is THAT good.
The 6 steps that Ghalil describes are so detailed, organized and well thought out that there is no way you are going to not "get it". I will use this book as a resource for many years to come. Highly highly Recommended!
