About the Author

Dean Beers started his agency in October of 1987, with a strong desire to have his own business and expand on his "hobby" of finding people. At that time he had no investigative (or writing) experience and relied heavily on developing skills and learning from my fellow investigators, giving back whenever possible. In a short amount of time, he realized that there is nothing else he would rather do.

He retired from private investigations in 2005, after 18 years of developing innovative business and investigative practices. After a tragic motor vehicle collision in September 2000, and the catastrophic events of 09/11/2001, Dean's recovery gave him the need to transition to public service.

In September 2002, Dean was accepted into the Reserve Training Program for the Larimer County Medical Examiner's Office. In June of 2003, his dedication was rewarded with a part-time position as a Deputy Coroner / Investigator. A full-time position, after completing law enforcement academy, completed his goal in November 2005.

This is Dean's first book, he is presently working on a non-fiction thriller and a second investigative book detailing forensic and crime scene photography. His past writing experience includes: Pursuit, PI Magazine, The Professional Investigator **, The Norlarco Difference, The Newsletter of Joseph Culligan, The Fort Collins Coloradoan, I-News, The Larimer County Association of Legal Support Staff and Newsletter of the United Kingdom Institute of Professional Investigators.

During his career he lectured and taught the very in skills in this book throughout the country to other professional investigators, law enforcement, bail recovery agents and repossession agents. In addition to his writing experience, he has been featured in: Inside Fort Collins,, The Denver Business Journal and The Fort Collins Coloradoan. My professional insight has also been featured in: The USA Today, Business Week, The Privacy Journal and The Fort Collins Coloradoan.
