Not for advanced support people., December 14, 2008
This review is from: Professional Microsoft Search: SharePoint 2007 and Search Server 2008 (Wrox Professional Guides) (Paperback)
For beginners that have little or no experience with search and want to get a basic to moderate understanding of it, then this book is fine. It also contains some interesting information on the client presentation side of search results. However, it is not a book for reasonably experienced Moss support people. Like people who may be looking for all those elusive and in depth answers to the search questions you have after search is up and running. If you need to really know what is going on with Scopes or what all the settings mean in the Core Results Webpart, then this book isn't going to help. If you are looking to get started with search, then this book might be helpful.
