This reader is quite fast and works like a charm in combination with UDMA CF cards (16GB and 32 GB) used in my my Canon EOS 7D and my PC. My PC (Windows 7 64-bit) recognized the device instantly when I connected it (USB 2.0 - no external power) and I have had no problems at all reading or writing (for camera firmware upgrade). The packaging was a little cheesy, but I didn't buy it for the packaging. The reader does its job and does it well for a fraction of the price of comparable (?) devices. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this reader.

So far so good, getting 20mbs on average, replacing the card reader which was giving me only 2-3mbs. Getting RAW files download was too pathetic and now they are fine.

Have used this to read bot CF and SD card with no problems. It is fast and and cards insert easily and reliably. Had another reader that allowed for bent pins, but the guides for the CF card on this unit would seem to prevent this. No complaints.
