5.0 out of 5 stars I feel so compelled to give homage after this epic listening experience.
Here i am at my computer, listening to the Leon soundtrack for the second time today and I dare say Leon is one of the best soundtracks I've ever had the plessure to listen to. Eric Serra gives it his all and it shows. The melodies found throughout are very deep and meaningful. Leon IS my favorite movie and as a fan it was truely great when this cd arrived at my house...

3.0 out of 5 stars Anyone looking for that song?
After a couple of years of looking I found out that the song played when Mathilda and Leon are adjusting to living with each other is a Bjork cut of her first album Debut. The name of the song is "Venus as a boy". I figured since I was wondering who made that song and it wasnt on the soundtrack that maybe someone out there was in the same situation as me. Oh...

Eric Serra gives it his all and it shows. The melodies found throughout are very deep and meaningful. Leon IS my favorite movie and as a fan it was truely great when this cd arrived at my house. The 23 tracks on the disc are strictly orchestational and you wont find the song by Bjork or the final song by Sting, I suggest downloading LimeWire if you wish for those. Otherwise every little piece heard in Leon is on this cd. Highlights of mine are, Ballad for Mathilda, When Leon does his Best, and Two Ways Out. Every song is great but those ring especially true for me. If you enjoyed Luc Besson's epic film, this soundtrack is for you. Buy it, dont even hesitate. Thanks for reading and I hope you found this helpful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Serra does it again, April 25, 2000
This review is from: The Professional: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I bought the Soundtrack for the 5th Element a long time ago, and immediately became a big fan of Serra. Luc Besson (director) and Eric Serra make a perfect combination every time.

I think my favorite track on The Professional's soundtrack is the quiet "Cute Name" simply because the first time I heard it I was listening to Paul Oakenfold's "Perfecto Flouro" mix (which as a side-note is the most amazing trance mix I have EVER heard); so naturally when I heard it in this movie I decided that this soundtrack was a must-buy. Although I must admit I was diasppointed that Sting's "Shape of my Heart" and the Bjork song from the movie did NOT appear on this CD as bonus tracks.

Either way, I think Eric Serra is very talented, and his modern-classical mix of light Middle-Eastern sounds and catchy guitar riffs is unlike anything I've ever heard. He has a style all of his own that you can recognize in all of Luc Besson's films, and I would recommend this soundtrack and The 5th Element's soundtrack as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A film equalled by the soundtrack, July 8, 2001
This review is from: The Professional: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Eric Serra brings a unique industrial sound to this soundtrack, much like that of another of his work, Goldeneye.

If you are a fan of the movie, this album is must. It is a shame however, that Sting's "Shape of my Heart" isn't included on the CD. Despite this one shortcoming, one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring record that beautifully brings the emotion of the film to life.

Get it now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Looking for the final track?, October 10, 2005

You will hear several uses of acoustic guitar in the film & soundtrack. The final song in the movie, which isn't on the soundtrack, is Shape of my heart by Sting. The guitarist in the song is named Dominic Miller. If you were moved by his participation in either The Professional or Sting's work, Dominic Miller has put forth some impressive solo work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional ride, January 24, 2005
This review is from: The Professional: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This movie is really great, the relationship between the two central characters are so defined well in the soundtrack. When we first see Mathilda, the song that goes with it is perfect. And Leon's ongoing theme is present throughout the whole soundtrack, it's like you're in their world with them. This is the first non-lyrical soundtrack that I actually enjoy listening to on a regular basis, totally recommend it.

After seeing the movie, I've ordered it, and the soundtrack online the same day. The movie is astonishing. The music from the movie brings out the tear... I've seen many movies, however this was amazing.*shrugging*. I recommend to listen it with a dolby system or equivalent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Car music, June 25, 2001

This soundtrack is perfect for working on a project or driving around. The Professional has great car music. It's a good "life soundtrack" for the moments when you're working.. wether it be working on art (which is my case) or working to make a deadline. It has a very industrial sound to it. Much like his [Eric Serra's] score for Golden Eye. If you like suspenseful music, this is the soundtrack to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Incredible, April 9, 2006

Eric Serra is quite simply "the professional". With Leon it is evident that he is the best film composer of the 90's. No questions asked. From his brilliant, spine chilling "Noon" composition to the fantastic "A Bird In New York", this album brings out emotion from the hit film "Leon:- The Professional". I could quite possibly say that this is the best soundtrack i've ever heard, it is a film music gem and is recomended for all Erric Serra fans and Luc Besson Fans.

This soundtrack is nothing short of brilliant. The best track is "What's Happening Out There" The soundtrack just flows so well with the movie, and the strings are just remarkable! Very highly recommended.
